As I carried my lunch to the hawker table, my colleague was rather curious and asked what did I ordered. They burst into laughter at the instance when I told them this was Gui Fei 贵妃 Noodles and questioned if after consumption, would I turn into Yang Gui Fei (One of the Four Beauties in ancient China). But this was how the stall name the dish. Dish preparations and ingredients were similar to Bah Chor Mee (Minced Meat Noodle) with minced meat, braised mushrooms and slices of mocked abalone on
Dish preparations and ingredients were similar to Bah Chor Mee (Minced Meat Noodle) with minced meat, braised mushrooms and slices of mocked abalone on it. Pork Lards were added to enhanced taste.
Perhaps this is a new add on to their Fish Ball Noodle menu and was not illustrated on their signboard but rather written on an A4 size paper and pasted in front of the stall.
Overall, its price is abit steep but still worth it to find out what exactly a Gui Fei Noodle is.
Unfortunately, having this bowl of noodle had not turned me into Gui Fei yet.
