I deliberately detoured to far east plaza for my delicious hainanese chicken rice. This place is so popular! There was a non stop stream of people flooding into the shop. I had to wait pretty long for my chicken rice to be served not because there were no seats but they just ran out of chicken. I had to wait pretty long for my chicken rice to be served not because there were no seats but they just ran out of chicken. The uncle and auntie were really nice, they seated me down and told me to wait 10 to 15 minutes. I noticed a lot of people also waiting for the chicken. When it finally came out, within minutes of chopping, they ran out of it again. It was only 6.30pm on my watch and the staff told people the next batch will be available only at 7pm. This is how good their business it.Their business is so good cos their food is affordable, one portion of chicken rice cost $4. The rice portion was pretty a lot, I had to zoom in on the rice to show how not oily it is. Some places cooked the rice until so oily just for the chicken rice flavor but theirs is not. It was very fragrant as well. the chicken is very smooth and tender. The sauce soaking the chicken is very tasty. their soup did not taste like they added a lot of msg into it, very tasty and goes well with the rice. I personally think it was worth the wait.
