My friends and I were chilling out in the east the other night, decided to order a warm dessert to perk me up. I was looking through the menu and finally settled on the hot almond paste. It took the restaurant approximately 25 minutes to serve and when the almond paste arrived, it was served at room temperature with a layer of 'dried' almond paste coating. It wasn't too sweet but after a few mouthfuls, it started to make me sick and it had the 'gelat' aftertaste. The almond flavor wasn't distinct either and the fragrance was hardly present. Coming back here for dessert the next time will be a no-no, not sure about the food though but I'm relatively negative about it. The almond paste cost $3.80 excluding gst.
