When I think of ayam penyet, I expect blazing hot, smashed, crispy fried chicken. But realised something even tastier than ‘flat chicken’ – how about ‘flat beef’? (: Jurong East do offer some unique food (thankfully) and I highly recommend the Empal (beef) Penyet if you are craving for spicy food (not those laksa kind but more of malay/Indonesian kind!). Comes with flavoursome tofu, tempe (fermented beans cake), shreds of fresh cabbages and a bowl of rice too. Reasonable lunch item at only $5. Try it!
