A typical western food stall in a S-11coffee shop that serves typical western food. A bright and simple food menu, many pictures for visual illustration with short descriptions. However, don't be too surprised if what you see is not what you get. The food comes out very average. I ordered a grilled chicken chop while my friend had a fish n chips for an after-school lunch. The chicken was properly grilled and moist but the mushroom sauce was pretty bland, unlike common western stalls that serve brownish gravy, Rasa Sayang's is orange in color which occurred to me that it wasn't a pleasing color for chicken chop gravy. It was also pretty obvious that the crinkle cut fries were fried in very reused cooking oil as there was a distinct aftertaste.
The stall also has bad service. When the food arrived, my friend and I paid from our respective wallets. The lady didn't have change and upon so, she said in mandarin, "so y'all are paying separately? why didn't y'all say? next time please indicate when you're ordering to save us trouble!" Really.. my grilled chicken chop was $5.80 and I gave $6, while my friend gave a $10 note for a $6 fish n chips, was it that much of a hassle? Generous portion nevertheless even though it wouldn't matter to me as both my friend and I didn't finish.
Would definitely rule this stall out when I do have cravings for western food in AMK area next time. The food will leave you full but not very satisfied.
