Laksania is already rather well-known with 3 other branches at prominent locations: Bugis +, NEX and JEM. But this branch at 382 East Coast Road is really a hidden gem. On top of the usual Laksas that Laksania has made a name out of, I was delighted to find out that Laksania at East Coast Road now offers a Laksa Steamboat buffet at $19.90 per pax! (Only offered there!) Excellent value for money if you ask me. You can choose between 5 types of Laksa base:1) Singapore Laksa2) Penang Laksa 3) Kela

You can choose between 5 types of Laksa base:
1) Singapore Laksa
2) Penang Laksa
3) Kelantan Laksa
4) Sarawak Laksa
5) Vegetarian Laksa
I sampled all 5. I actually really like the Kelantan Laksa and the Penang Laksa. The Sarawak Laksa is an acquired taste. Pick the one you like best!
Must try if you visit:
1) The Laksa Steamboat of course!
2) The really unique Passionfruit Soda!
3) Their refreshing Ice Chendol to finish off.
During our meal here the owner revealed that Laksania is meant to be pronounced Laksa-nia ("only" in Hokkien). In other words, something like "Only Laksa" with a Singaporean flavor. She also shared with us her inspiration for the 5 different Laksa broths and her passion for food.
Another thing that I liked about the place was the strong air-conditioning. Comes in handy when you're having something like a laksa steamboat buffet! The staff were also very friendly and attentive. 5 stars! Definitely a place worth visiting.
