Tuesday - 11:30am when hunger pangs struck. Dropped work. Went with a colleague to nearby Amoy hawker centre to da-bao our lunch.Target: Our favourite fishball noodles stall on the 2/F: Teochew Fish Ball Mee (#02-130)We were lucky that the queue hadn't formed when we arrived. I ordered a meepok dried, with chilli and extra vinegar (take-away). At $2.50, it came along with 5 rather gigantic fishballs (ok, they may not be the biggest fishballs in town, but they were pretty impressive..), and

We were lucky that the queue hadn't formed when we arrived. I ordered a meepok dried, with chilli and extra vinegar (take-away). At $2.50, it came along with 5 rather gigantic fishballs (ok, they may not be the biggest fishballs in town, but they were pretty impressive..), and a miserable leaf of Chinese lettuce.
Once the lid was removed, the rising smell of vinegar whetted my appetite even more! Unfortunately, the noodles was already a little towards the dry side, by the time I ate them (about 10mins after purchase). Still, they tasted delicious! The extra vinegar helped to spice up the flavour, though it did not overpowered the entire dish. You could still taste the chilli, the parsley, dried shrimps (? I think..) blanding well together with the noodles. The bouncy fishballs were delightful (note: no fishy smell - which would be a BIG turnoff for me) and I quickly gobbled down the whole bowl of noodles in no time.張貼
