Having grown up in Katong area, I have been having breakfast at Chin Mei Chin for ages. This nostalgic and cosy little coffeeshop tuck at the corner never fails to remind me of my childhood every time i visit them. If you're lucky you get a table all to yourself but be prepared to share with the odd lone elderly gentleman having his breakfast. Then sit down and order a set of delectable kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs followed by a strong cup of coffee to wash it all down. Chin Mei Chin has quit

Chin Mei Chin has quite a following thanks to their affordable and oh-so-good pastries. They might not be displayed in a fancy case but trust me you won't regret walking away with one of each in a box.

One of the last few spots of its kind in the Katong area, I hope this charming little shop doesn't go away. After the demise of Red House - another of my favourite, you better catch it while you can!
