Actually... this is not going to be much of a food review but just a post raving about my favourite food ever. I've been here countless of times, and every single time I walk away with a satisfied stomach and a smile on my face.
Found this place for the first time in 2010, I think. And no other dim sum place could contend against it.

What to order at Victor's Kitchen? I've come up with my own list after going for so many times. It could be quite a painful process in face of so many choices so here is a quick help list.

To-Die-For list: You absolutely have to order include their custard buns (at about two buns per pax will be a good gauge), har gow, BBQ pork buns and the Hong Kong Summer Ying Yang Tea (see below!). If you only have enough money for one dish, go for the custard buns.

Pretty-Good list: If you are itching for more dimsum, you can try their siew mai, spinach dumplings, fried prawn dumplings, glutinous rice and phoenix claws. Not spectacular but solid good dimsum.

I can't be entirely biased and say that their whole menu is good either. You are kindly advised against these -

Not So Good list: Chee cheong fun is average at best, you can eat better ones at hawker centres. The carrot cake (XO or not) is also quite awful in my opinion, do not try it unless you are feeling adventurous. It had no bite to it at all, a mess of mashed up... carrot cake. Leave that stomach space for something better. There are people who liked both the chee cheong fun and carrot cake (as seen by reviews below and elsewhere), but I don't like it.. so try it at your own risk.

Essentially thick, good ol' honest milk tea. Love it!

Warning:
Victor's Kitchen is packed to the brim most of the time and the best time to visit it is 3 - 4pm on weekdays. Be prepared to wait up till 45 minutes at peak hours even with only 2 pax. This is also not the most glam place to eat at. The tables are arranged school-canteen style and you will be sitting back-to-back, shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow diners. But all in the name of good food, I'll be back.

Pricing:
On my hungriest days, I paid around $15/pax. That's about 5 - 6 dishes and a drink.

If you haven't been to this place... you've been missing out on a lot. Get yourself there for your next meal now!

Another warning, Victor's Kitchen is known to close shop at erratic times even during its official opening hours. Have a Plan B ready on-hand - there's always Nan Xiang Restaurant (Bugis Junction), Man Fu Yuan (Intercontinental Singapore) and Asia Grand Restaurant (Odeon Towers beside Raffles City) for a quick dimsum fix nearby.

Officially, Victor's Kitchen is closed on Mondays, and open from 11am to 8pm on Tuesdays to Sundays. If you estimate yourself to reach at 7.30pm, get your Plan B ready... 5pm on weekdays should be a safe bet.
