Every year, more or less, I will celebrate National Day with family. Our favourite fireworks spot is none others than Marina Bay Sands - Best view for fireworks with no obstruction! After viewing the spectacular NDP's fireworks display, I suggest to find a place for bites and drinks, so decided on High Society. Not to mention, its also my maiden visit.High Society really gives me a classy and cosy feel, especially due its modern furnishings, interior design, sofa and bar seats. Ones can be spoil
High Society really gives me a classy and cosy feel, especially due its modern furnishings, interior design, sofa and bar seats. Ones can be spoilt for choices with the extensive items; ranging from starters, soups, light bites, pastas, sandwiches, mains to tartes, cups, macaroons, cupcakes, mincakes and drinks. Not to mention, High Society is well known for its decadent cupcakes.
The extensive choices are far what we can take, thus we decided to try out only on light bites, cakes and drinks. We ordered French Fries with Truffle Aioli, Fragolamico, Strawberry cheese, Passion Meringue Tarte, Casanova and Boss for sharing.
French fries with truffle aioli come in tartar sauce, crisp and crunchy, neither oily nor salty - Perfect choice for me! ($8)
The crust of Fragolamico tart is crisp, fills with vanilla cream, atop with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Sweet, sour and creamy - Not much of a surprise! ($9)Passion meringue tarte comes in swirls of caramelized meringue with passionfruit and orange. It really tastes extremely sweet. Great choice for those with sweet tooth! Definitely not my preference! ($9)
Strawberry cheese comes in light cheesecake mousse with strawberry purees, atop with rhubard compote. Smooth, spongy and creamy. ($9)
Casanova is made up of layers of dark chocolate mousse, praline and hazelnut feuilletine, atop with chocolate fudge and hazelnut. The texture is velvety smooth, tastes bitter and creamy with nibs of hazelnuts. ($9) Boss consists of three layers; dark chocolate mousse, peppermint cream brulee and cocoa nougatine covered with chocolate fudge. The taste of Boss is exceptionally distinct; it is not only bitter, but also minty, creamy and crunchy - The 'Crown' of minicakes! ($12)
Overall, dining at High Society is certainly a comfort and pleasure, especially with good music and extensive delectable items to tantalise our tastebuds - Bon Appetite!
