Despite being one of the "aging" neighbourhoods in Singapore, there had been a recent revamp in the F&B establishments operating within Bukit Merah Central. Truffle Fries ($7.90) are part of the sides menu that is available throughout the day. While the taste is not overpowering, it was pretty evident through the whole bucket while the fries were thick, fluffy and crispy. A truffle mayo dip is also served alongside with the Truffle Fries as well.
They were serving the dinner menu when we visited, which includes pasta and mains. We shared a Pork Roulade ($15.50) which came pretty huge and good for two small eaters to share. The Pork Shoulder was wrapped in bacon, while stuffed with walnuts and caramalised apples. It had a unique texture with the first layer being stringy from the bacon, followed by the meaty bite of the Pork Shoulder and then the crunch of the walnuts. Different dimensions of taste could also be felt from the savoury bacon all the way to the nutty core. We especially loved how matching the Caramelised Apple sauce was with the mashed potato as well.
Crispy on the outside and flaky in the inside, the Beer-battered Fish & Chips ($13.90) was a joy to have, especially when the fish was free from any odour.
