Service - rather rude, gruff and like there's some kind of huge hurry when there's no queue. But they do serve VERY fast and hassle free. But they are always barking at you "what do you want? what do you want?" After a while they leave you alone to browse. No please or thank yous here. Just say what you want, pay and collect and go. Value - it's alright. some places are cheaper but the quality between different Old Chang Kees is so consistent, you are paying for the consistency and reliability of quality.
Food - great! What can go wrong in a deep-fried food shop? Doesn't feel oily when you eat it but after a while you do burp it back up. I hope they use trans-fat free oil to deep-fry their stuff since i eat so much of it! I wish they put more egg in the normal curry puff. I love their Sardines puff. Not a fan of the mushroom puffs.
There're other deep-fried stuff which have no specific names - just what they are, deep-fried.There's a nice variety and you can surely choose something different each day. I love the sesame green bean balls thing that is deep-fried. It's so yummy!
Haven't tried everything but most of it looks very tasty!
