I went to old airport road with my parents for breakfast. Before we left, my mother insisted on buy some steamed yam cake and soon kueh back home. This stall’s steamed yam cake is really delicious. it is really soft and tasty. They topped it off with a lot fried shallots. These shallots are fried till very fragrant, it gave this dish a contrast in textures. The soon kueh is so awesome, they were so generous with the filling. This stall’s steamed yam cake is really delicious. it is really soft and tasty. They topped it off with a lot fried shallots. These shallots are fried till very fragrant, it gave this dish a contrast in textures. The soon kueh is so awesome, they were so generous with the filling. The fillings was so tasty, there was some sweetness and saltiness. It was a little crunchy too. They provided us with black sauce and chilli. The chilli was really good, though on the hot side, my sister could not take it, it was too spicy for her. The black sauce brought out the flavour of both the yam cake and the soon kueh. It was indeed satisfying.
