Everyone comes to Block 85 Bedok North for the famous Bak Chor Mee. While there is nothing wrong with this - the Bak Chor Mee is indeed wonderful - there are certainly other good stalls here to check out, like Chai Chee Pork Porridge. This seems to be a very popular stall.I used to hear that this stall sells good porridge. After my friend ordered the Bowl of Goodness Pork Porridge with an added egg at a reasonable price and was pleasantly surprised with it. It was an Amazing Porridge and it's true (was absolutely delicious). The texture was thick due to it's slow-cooking and patient stirring. It was also unbelievably rich in flavour. Fresh, not frozen pork slices and mince were used to chunk up the comforting 'Famous porridge' in the east.
When served, you can smell the faint aroma of sesame oil wafting from the congee. It is smooth and easy to eat with the right texture & consistency (lots of meat)!
Conclusion: You can expect your nice and smooth porridge here with just 3 dollars. Try Century Egg minced pork porridge at its best because it is my girlfriend's favourite food for me to take away home since I stay nearby. Only thing is you probably have to wait 5 minutes for your porridge.
