This is a memorable dinning moment for me because Sinar PagiNasi Padang served one of the best traditional malay dishes that my partner and i loved. The easy solution to my usual laziness is to take away some dishes from there and to have it with white rice for our dinner at home. My usual favourite have always been the Sambal Goreng, Beef Rendang and Sayur Lodeh for only $12.00. And, with these dishes, i just need to cook rice and the dinner is ready. My usual favourite have always been the Sambal Goreng, Beef Rendang and Sayur Lodeh for only $12.00. And, with these dishes, i just need to cook rice and the dinner is ready.
The Sambal Goreng is a dish with fried tau kwa, long bean and tempeh. I am never a fan of tempeh and i always left it to my partner to eat it. I only go for the long bean and fried tau kwa. The long bean has always been well-cooked to a nice softness and it might look rather spicy but the spiciness of the sambal is very much well-controlled.
I usually ordered 2 pieces of Beef Rendang, a piece for myself and another for my partner. The gravy complemented the white rice really well. The texture of the beef has always been tender and soft. It has always been our favourite and we liked it very much.
Another dish that we loved has been Sayur Lodeh. It is the malay version of vegetable curry and tasted very much different from the chinese one. You could find items like tempeh and turnips added in it. It always came with a piece of tempeh and a piece of fried tau kwa other than the usual vegetables. My partner is a lover of tempeh so that piece of tempeh is always for him and i will go for the fried tau kwa. It made both of us happy coz we have gotten what we liked.
All in all, a really satisfying dinner at home each time.
