I'm hesitant whether to write this review or not because this isn't an event of recent, dined at Zenden last year so there might be many changes already. Anyway now that I've started, I remember this place as it was one of the first few dates my boyfriend and I shared. It took me by lovely surprise as the elevator reached its landing and taking a couple of steps, what you'd be in view of is a purple and pink theme restaurant with a cosy open concept setting, it also sets a lounge by the restaura
We had a waiter who carried a very friendly and cheerful personality.. in fact, over-friendly, I reckon. I liked the part where he'd make it a point to attentively refill our glasses, check everything was in order and enthusiastically interacted with us for feedback(and more feedback). However too much of those just became invading, it held us back from having space to ourselves.
It was a 3-course dinner. Starter menu was fried soft shell crab, really juicy and tender.. the white meat had the 'melt-in-your-mouth" feel. Mains came along, I remember there were various choices to choose from and being particular, we were both spoilt for choice for a second. My boyfriend had a beef steak and the unique part was the beef being cooked in front of you on a stove with wheels. On the other hand, I had the grilled salmon which came with on a small bed of fried rice. Both were not too bad, beef was tender enough and the salmon had its distinct teriyaki taste. Lastly it was time for dessert. I loved it that Zenden had options for desserts too, it really catered to individual's choice. Took us some time to decide but eventually I had the creme brulee while my boyfriend took the tiramisu, served in a martini glass. The tiramisu had its generous serving of cocoa powder, so much so it choked our throat a little. Overall, dinner experience @ Zenden still made our night.
Worth a return visit sometime soon! It's been a year.
P.S. I can't find the picture of the beef steak
