When it comes to hawker fare, char kway teow and carrot cake are common names. Happen to pass by the area so decided to visit this newly refurbished bedok 85 food centre. My black carrot cake comes sprinkled with green onions and smells real good. So does my char kway teow. It leaves you with the fresh from the wok feeling. Even though the char kway teow did not come with prawns, the wok hei is tasted strongly, achieved only with strong fire and well controlled stir frying. The food is served on styrofoam plates and eaten with disposable wooden chopsticks. I would give the thumbs up for these 2 dishes i ordered. It was good that the refurbished place seems a bit more airy than before, but again it was drizzling when i was there so i may be wrong, but it definitely feels cleaner.
