The little piglet biscuit was one of my childhood Must-Have during the seasons of mid autumn festival. Come in attractive colored cages with little piglets casted on the biscuits, they were just good enough to fill up the little heart and had the little me contented for the day. The "piglets" were baked to golden brown and was rather flaky, not as hard as we might thought. Packed and sealed by a plastic sheet and dropped into the cage locked up by some red plastic string.
I would say that the items that Tian Shun Guo Tan had offered had ineveitably caused me to be nostalgic as they triggered too much memories way back.Take for another example, they are actually selling the my so called "original" colors of a 9 layers Kueh which I had been looking around.
Peeling the bright lively colors kueh and enjoying piece by piece was one of the childhood process. I bet quite a number of us had shared the same sentiments. Till now, I'm still enjoying this eating style. . Kueh was good and did not have an overpowering of coconut fragrance. Most importantly, it did not taste any sourness and layers were easily detachable with small efforts.
I still remember the first time having this: I was throwing tantrums to my grandma for buying the wrong version of Mi Jian Kueh for me, yet still end up eating for my breakfast.
Perhaps nowadays when we get to see Kueh that is of this shape, we will mistakenly assume that they are those Japanese pancakes that comes with cheese, chocolate fillings etc. My senses packed me with the kind of "kueh kueh" smell as I bite down, to my surprise, the red bean paste was not as what I had expected. It was more watery kind and definitely to my liking.
Sad to say that we get to see lesser places selling such "traditional" stuff nowadays, I just wished they will never die off in time to come.Total Cost: S$2.90
