Xiang Mei Roasted Meat's queue had drawn my attention for quite sometimes due to its long snaking queue lined up by the roasted meat fans.My friend added that this is one of the popular places for roasted meat in Bukit Batok District. I'm someone who prefer braised to roasted duck. The roasted portion on its crackling skin was fragrant with juicy meat. However, the down side was that the portion given was filled with bones and ratio of meat to the rice was not really appealing. Though the sweet aromatic sauce that was poured over the meat was delicious, I just felt that the amount given was not as generous.Cost: $4.50
Likewise for the packet of Char Siew and Roasted meat, portion was miserable with little gravy used. Cost: $4
When asked if I could take away the soup as well, I was referred to get plastic containers myself from neighbouring stalls at $0.20. The lacking in portion and soup in my take-away encounter was a disappointment despite how popular people claimed it to be. Perhaps I should give them another try by dining in and judge again.
