We are almost done with the Food Trail at Bugis Junction. The 8th stop is Hongguo which is located at the basement one of Bugis Junction. I always pass by the restaurant but never thought of trying it. This time round i have the opportunity to get to know Hongguo. I always pass by the restaurant but never thought of trying it. This time round i have the opportunity to get to know Hongguo. The restaurant is specialize in Yunnan and Si Chuan cuisine.
The legendary “Cross Bridge Vermicelli” which is known as Zhuang Yuan Mi Xian (15 items)状元过桥米线 （15样） – $8.80. It is presented with a huge pot of hot boiling temperature rich broth with 15 types of ingredients. You can see the ingredients from the photo taken. The staff will then served and guide us on how to enjoy the noodle soup. It was all put into the big bowl and tadah… you may start to tuck in.There wasn’t any oil layer and taste as clear as it looks. Worth to try!
Sze Chuan Chicken in Basket- $7.50.This dish is superb spicy for me. But for those who take spicy foods, you will love it. It has the crunchy roasted peanuts and chicken texture is very lean and blend into the spicyness.
Lotus XO Seafood Fried Rice -$8.80. The fried rice taste delicious with the mixed seafood ingredients. This makes the rice flavorful and fragrance.
Pumpkin fries -$6.80.It is a famous dish among bloggers. We all love the deep-fried pumpkins coated with the salted egg york. It’s a finger licking ala carte to order when you are dinning in.
XO fried seafood noodle -$8.80 which served with seafood ingredients. The noodles are stir fried with dark soy sauce and the taste was not bad.
Minced Pork Lettuce Wrap -$6.80. It is something interesting for me. It has the similiar concept of popiah style but this is with lettuce wrap. The minced pork texture has the sweet and spicy flavors wrapped with the fresh lettuce gives a big appetizer to start off with.Overall the foods served here is surprisingly not bad especially the fried rice and the pumpkin fries. The staff is kind enough to guide us on how to enjoy the foods.
