The roof top restaurant had a nice design, pretty good. For starters, I ordered the naan. It was crisp and delicious, great way to whet my appetite! The dum biryani came in soon. I didn't try the beer there, but my experience was still decent.I tried the chicken schnitzel. It was a little too oily but the outer crust was good. At the first bite, there was the nice crunch sound. The chicken was not too dry, almost perfect. The sauce was tasty and complemented the chicken well! It's something like Mala Hot Pot in a Yong Tau Fu style, with a nice spicy chilli gravy. You get to choose the ingredients you want to add to your bowl — ranging from different kinds of meat and vegetables. The ingredients were all fresh and covered with that lovely chili gravy. The lady will ask you about your spiciness levels so don't worry too much I went with medium and it was just right for me! It's hard to gauge the pricing as it differs. For my family of 4, we ordered a bowl of ingredients (I.e. Chicken, beef, Chinese sausage, various vegetables, tofu...) which cost us $13, along with 4 bowls of rice which were $0.50 each. I love this place as I am able to choose my ingredients and the sauce is just amazing. Love it. Also, the idea of a 'dry pot' is unique and does open up the cuisine of China in Singapore here. I ordered the Hawaiian chicken chunk and spicy tomato baked rice. It was really yummy and served warm. I liked the chicken chunks, there were not too big and was bite size. The chicken was seasoned well and went well with the tomato sauce. It was not overly cheesy, and just right. The baked rice still had the nice springy cheese texture. What attracted me to the restaurant was the wide array of tarts and cakes. The vibrancy of the fruits was gorgeous, and I love how they gleamed in the light. I ordered the mango tart. The mangoes were very fresh and yummy. I felt that the tart wasn't "out of this world". It was okay but not fantastic. The chocolate fondant took a while to get to my table, but otherwise, it was completely and utterly heavenly. It was worth the wait as you could tell that the cake was made upon order. There was no traces of overheated surfaces or frozen core. The cake was warm and thankfully not at room temperature. It was not too sweet, rich in the chocolate-y flavour and very moist. The centre was gooey and warm and chocolate-y. The whole thing was very chocolate-y :)The softee was a brilliant side to the fondant. It was sweet and gave a nice smooth texture to the cake. The Tokyo Gyudon was very tasty, the meat was tender and great. I especially enjoyed breaking the egg in the middle and watching the runny yolk come out. The atmosphere was good, created the nice Japanese vibes. I also ordered the potato mochi, it was decent and not fantastic. The salmon sashimi was very fresh and beautiful! I ordered the green curry chicken and it was not very good. The soup was bland and did not have much of a kick. There was hardly any spiciness and somehow tasted too milky. The chicken was tender but there was not much taste, possibly due to the poor soup. Thankfully, the noodles were soft. I ordered the lemon tea to go with the meal and sadly, it was very diluted. The cafe's setting is very cute, like an old white colonial house! Inside the cafe, it is very bright and the staffs were very welcoming. I did like the design of the place. The eggs benedict was good. The egg not under or over cooked, with a nice yellow runny yolk. It is possibly one of the best I have ever ate in Singapore. There are four ways to enjoy the BlackBall Signature, you can either have it hot, cold, warm or icy. It is a combination of yam, golden sweet potato, yamballs, sweet potato balls, red bean and pearls. The hot one was semi-liquid like, while the cold one was great on hot days. I paid and got a plate to stack my food! I was sharing with my sister so we just grabbed anything we liked. Our food was stacked into a mountain! I would suggest taking mash potato to stick your food together. Especially if you are sharing one plate with four other people :)The food at the salad bar are very tasty. The pasta went well with raisins. The greens were very fresh too. As for the soup, I chose the borsch. It was really good and had lots of ingredients in it (you have to dig it up). The one egg soup was quite lovely. The soufflé on top was the saving grace of the dish. It made the dish different from the other kinds of soup. The soufflé was light and just right. The soup was decent.The Nutella tart was decadent and full of the Nutella flavour which I love. The creme brûlée was not fantastic, I wouldn't recommend it! I was expecting more chocolate from this dessert, but I was left disappointed.It is still safer to stick to their cakes and ice creams. The chocolate flourless cake is very rich and every chocolate lover's dream. The 'hei' ice cream is amazing too, it just melts in your mouth and is heavenly. The textures were amazing, my mouth was in heaven. The first bite was insanely good. The hype surrounding this dish is really worth it! I also tried the yakitori, the sauce was quite good. The yaki udon was served hot and right off the griddle. Being a fan of udon, I loved the flavours and springy feeling of the udon. Thumbs up I definitely recommend the pitan tofu too!
