If you are a chocolate lover, Max Brenner is definitely the place a place you must visit. I order the hazel nut ice cream banana toffee crepe and it was to my liking, the crepe was hot and pairing together with the ice cream was so heavenly. Although they have a wide range of flavor for the lava cake, but it’s a bit expensive as it cost $2.80 a piece. I find that the lava does not flow out smoothly as compared to normal lava cake, but it was thick and rich in flavor. Come out from Holland village mrt and walking past a few shop and you will find D Good café.  I had the English breakfast and the amount of food was quite generous, however the taste was very normal to me and you can top a few dollars more for a cup of latte. It took me quite some time before I get to find this café, as it is located at one of the hdb at Toa Payoh. I ordered waffle topped with 2 scoops of ice cream, and the sea salt gula Melaka flavor is definitely a must try here, as it has a mixture of sweet and saltiness. The xiao long bao is definitely a must try dish whenever I come to din tai fung. The skin is so thin and it’s filled with a lot of soup, and the meat was also very generous too. My next favorite dish will be pork chop fried rice; it is very fragrant and topped with a generous portion of pork chop. Located at a prominent area just directly opposite Clarke quay mrt station, it was easy to find locate this bak kut the shop. Although, it was very packed during lunch hours but the staff was able to get us seated in after 10mins. I find that the soup was more a peppery kind rather than the herbal, however the meat was soft and tender to my liking. Another good point is that the soup is refillable. As suggested by its name, skinny pizza crust is really thin yet crispy like a biscuit. I ordered their signature dish, which is the squid ink pizza and it was filled with generous serving of vegetables and squid. Fatty Cheong is definitely one of the roasted delicacies stall to rave about. I had their charsiew and roasted pork rice for only $3, and the meat serving was very generous. The charsiew were juicy and tender, while the roasted pork skin were crispy. Overall, this dish look like a mess but the gravy definitely goes well with it. This chicken rice stall is very easy to identify, as there is a long queue. Instead of hanging up their chicken for display, it is being immersed in the ice water. Attracted by the 1 for 1 promotion, I decided to order a Spicy Seafood Olio for a try. Although the dish was served hot, but the ingredient such as the prawn and squid were small and the serving was miserable, as compared to the one show in their menu. It costs around $12 originally, if it wasn't for the 1 for 1 promotion, I wouldn't be attracted to order this spaghetti. Overall, I think this dish definitely has room for improvement.…查看更多
