Donuts are always an excellent choice of food for teabreak. Since we can't get krispy kremes in Singapore, J.co is a good substitute for warm donuts :)The donut on the top is "WHy Nut", while the one on the bottom is "Copa Banana". (sry for the bad lighting). I ordered the Black pepper chicken with spaghetti and thought that it was not bad. ALso, i got the Mango Ice Dessert.I thought that a hong kong restaurant offering western food is not bad. Also, the mango snow ice dessert was huge, and the 3 of us split it :)We also got soya bean milk, which came in a nostalgic metal tin cup :) Overall, it was a good dining experience and I will definitely reurn to try more of their extensive menu.…查看更多

We went down to the brunch at Wheelock place this time, and ordered a chocolate cheesecake and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was rather big, and was the size of the plate (as pictured above). However, it was nothing fantastic.The chocolate cheesecake on the other hand, was delicious as usual. I had the curry rice wagyu. It was $12.90. I thought it was not bad, and the curry was not spicy as well (Japanese curries tend to be not as spicy as other types). The best part of pepperlunch is that you get to cook the food yourself! The desserts here are fabulous. The restaurant is usually crowded at peak hours, so be sure to book ahead!This is the booboo cake ($6 - $7). It is actually chocolate cake. I felt that it was perfect and the sweetness was just right. Frankly, the desserts are actually the highlight of all NYDC restaurants. I think this is the Cobbs salad. It is not bad, there is a hard boiled egg in this. Croutons are crispy as well.This is the 3 amigos baked pasta with meatballs and ham. We were here on a saturday morning and the cafe was rather crowded. I ordered a jamaican pork sandwich (about $10) and it came wrapped up in two slices. The bread was two thick and the pork flavourful. In fact, i thought the portion was rather big and could only finish 3/4 of it. Maybe I'm just not a breakfast person. The coffee was good as well, and I heard it is one of the best in Singapore. However, my knowledge of coffee is not very good :/look how cute it is!It was difficult for us first timers to get to the cafe. We took a cab and were circling around for quite awhile until the uncle dropped us off and said it was the place (but it wasn't). We went down on a Saturday morning for a birthday celebration. We were a group of about 10 people, and although I had booked seats for the air-conditioned section of the restaurant, we were seated in the alfresco section. We ordered an entire Hazelnut Praline Royale Cake ($68) for the birthday girl.The cake itself was the BEST hazelnut cake I have ever tasted. It is perfectly sweet and chocolately and the texture of the cake is just right. However, it is a hassle to come to the restaurant. I recommend you taking a cab (around $6) from Vivo City. I had Eggs Benedict ($16) and found that it was not bad. The eggs are nicely done and the hollandaise sauce was sufficient. I felt that the portion was just right as well.The view from the cafe is also brilliant, as it is located at Keppel Bay. There are boats anchored at the dock. Read from reviews online that the pork tonkatsu don ($15.90) is a must try.I agree, the pork is crispy and tasty, however, some might find it to be a tad tough. The portion is big and value for money. The decor in the restaurant is unique and cosy. However, the restaurant is always crowded so do be sure to go down early. We got these cupcakes for a friend's 18th birthday. The candles you see atop the cupcakes are our own. The flavours we got are salted caramel, red velvet, Cookies and Cream, chocolate hazelnut, Dark Chocolate Ganache (slightly too bitter imo) and cinammon. Was here on a weekday with 2 other friends. We ordered 2 waffles, and 3 scoops of ice cream. We chose maple syrup for one waffle, and chocolate sauce for the other waffle. I personally prefer the maple syrup waffle. We ordered salted caramel ice cream, earl grey ice cream and dark chocolate sorbet. Price for one scoop is $3, two scoops $5 and three scoops $7. I think the pricing is pretty reasonable. My favourite flavour is the earl grey. However, the other two flavours were decent as well. The takoyaki here is amazing, and apparently one of the best in Singapore. Located in the busy food basement of Ion, the queue is sometimes long but it is definitely worth the wait. I love the octopus takoyaki the most. This cafe serves local and fusion food. I ordered stewed beef rice and my friend, laksa.I was satisfied with the stewed beef rice. It was warm and filling, perfect for the rainy days we have been experiencing. The beef is soft and tender, and seems like it has been stewed for a number of hours. When i was here, they were having a promotion for the cupcakes. It was around $2.80 for a cupcake. I decided to try them out as they had a bright and cheery signboard directly outside the shop. Also, competitor Twelve cupcakes is right around the corner.This chocolate cupcake looked pretty, though not as pretty as the chocolate cupcakes that 12 cupcakes has to offer. Had about 20 minutes to spare one weekday afternoon at scape, so we went to Sakae sushi for our favourite chawanmushi. Yeah, slightly weird to walk in to only have chawanmushi, but hey, this shows the chawanmushi is good This is the sakae chawanmushi. The egg was steamed very smooth and was just palatable for that rainy and dreary afternoon. It was a good perk me up as well! My parents got a box of 6 chewy juniors in the refridgerator. However, by the time I got home, only the Blueberry cheese one was left! I'm not complaining though. The puff was crispy on the outside, and as its name suggests, it was chewy on the inside. I love the blueberry jam on the top, as its sweetness is just right. The vanilla cream cheese filling on the inside is tasty and sufficient for the size of the puff. The puff is also cheap as well, and def worth a try! :)…查看更多
