This place seems to be a fav place for the old folks, huge place with many staff serving. This is a very long established and popular place for steamboat. They are also well known for their chicken rice - which was good, chicken tender and rice fragrant. The portion of ingredients for the steamboat is also good and it's rather reasonably priced. The prawns, sliced fish, etc are all fresh. It is always crowded during dinner hours and a little noisy over there, but that shows how good the steamboat is.

Have been coming here for a good old local steamboat since I was a little kid. This place holds very fond memories for me and to me, the chicken rice and remains awesome for me. The steamboat was also very wholesome to drink. I used to down 4 to 5 bowls easily on top of 2 full bowls of rice. There's something about the food here are 'opens' my third stomach. I didn't come here for steamboat! Besides steamboat, Thien Kee also serves chicken rice. I must say this is one of the best chicken rice I have eaten in my (short span of) life and I would definitely come here for chicken rice if I ever am craving it! being hainanese, i suppose their star dish would be the hainanese chicken. And chicken rice of course. Oily grains of fragrant rice doused in chicken oil and cooked in stock. Yum. So while we're at it, why not steamboat. At $39 a set, this was steep but i guess you couldn't put a price on a steaming hot bowl of comfort on a dreadfully rainy day.
