Love their pasta, sandwich, cake and soup and even their coffee, you can see that their chefs put a lot of effort into cooking the food, they are famous for their fish and chips, in fact every dish they make is nice, we enjoy their mushroom soup too. a quiet place in the heart of orchard, we like this cafe a lot, they cook quality food with a lot of effort and passion for cooking. highly recommended.

Tom Yum Seafood Pasta: This, my friends, is the heavenly tom yum seafood pasta that I often dream about. The secret to this amazing dish is definitely the sauce. Slightly creamy, sour and spicy at the same time, it's a wonder how such different tastes can blend together so well to light up your taste buds like fireworks. Honestly, I was in heaven when I ate this. Plus it comes with generous amounts of mussels and prawns. The prawns are really fresh though the mussels can be a tad bit too dry. Also I love how the pasta's loaded with onions to give this dish an extra punch of flavour. Just simply brilliant.

Fish & Chips: Another winner in the menu, though I feel that nothing can beat the tom yum pasta, the batter is light, tasty and crispy, and the fish is really fresh. Plus it's priced at I think $10 or less. Definitely the second choice after the pasta.

Small little cafe style set up with probably just 30 seater max. They also have a pull up banner in front saying they are voted one of the best places for fish and chips. Most of the tables are suitable for couples. Lighting wise is dim but that was more for the ambiance i guess. On one end of the ceiling is also hanging an old school CRT TV which you hardly see nowadays. Ordered mushroom soup as a appetizer $6.80, can actually taste the mushroom bits and served with a small piece of garlic toast

Mains 1 - Baked dory fish $15.80 (this is definitely worth a mention, the cheese meltdown goes very well with the dory, better than aston grill fish with herbs, the wedges at the side taste nice too)
Mains 2 - spicy tom yum pasta $16.80 (this was a little let down, with not enough kick to the taste level, it was neither here nor there, there wasn't much seafood offered as well, amunt of sauce is enough though)

Service wise could have been better as well, i had to ask for a side plate when its clear that my seafood pasta will have shells. Plus side is there's no GST was charged, according to the hand written receipt. Maybe becoz mine was a voucher purchase.

Lately I have been on a western frenzy. I have been eating a whole lot of western food. I went to Hob Nob Café Bar Pte Ltd with a couple of friends for a gathering. I could not decide what to have so I opted for the safest choice, fish and chips. And it paid off, the fish and chips was one of the nicest I have tried. The fish was very fresh and there was no sign of any fishy smell. The batter is really good, very fragrant and buttery. The coslaw is very refreshing, paired together with the golde

I give them two thumbs up.

We decided to had fish and chips and chicken cutlet spaghetti. The chicken cutlet spaghetti is great because of the sauce, its freshly made and very tasty. Chicken cutlet is quite tender, not stellar, though..The fish and chips, the chips was regular cut fries, but the fish really moist and crispy. Its perfectly cooked, very juicy and fresh. Its not oily, too!Service was great!

Hob Nob isn't hard to locate at all, once you reached Far East Shopping Centre, it can be easily accessed from the attractive bright signage! For anyone who loves pumpkin, this Creamy Pumpkin Soup is real thick and yummy. Served with a slice of garlic bread, a good starter to keep your taste buds waiting for the mains. This bowl of Cream of Shitake Mushroom Soup has very generous amount of mushrooms, served with a slice of garlic bread as well. It isn't too rich and creamy, so it will be a good choice for those who likes such soup texture.

A common dish, this crispy breaded fish fillet is above average. Served with french fries and tar tar, a safe dish yet simple and good.

This pork cutlet is stuffed with cheese and ham, served with french fries. The cheese is not too strong, which complements the ham and pork. The special part is the thick brown gravy with mushrooms, goes really well with the cutlet.

As recommended by my friend, she told me it is a MUST try dish at Hob Nob. Indeed, I really enjoyed this main dish, the fresh dory fish is served with garlic herb sauce, having sides like salad and potato wedges. I just love how the herb sauce is not so strong, and it just tastes really good with the smooth-textured baked fish. For all fish lovers, do try this dish if you wish to have something different rather than the normal Fish and Chips.

For those who wish to have a lighter main dish, the aglio olio will be a good choice. This dish is served with a blend of chili and garlic, using healthy olive oil. Normally, aglio olio is with seafood, but this is cooked with bacon and it is not too salty as well.

When it comes to desserts, would recommend this Dark Choc Oreo Cake. It is one of the most popular desserts as mentioned by the server. What makes it special is that, unlike other oreo cakes, this cake is cheese-based but chocolate-based so its rich and tastes good with the crust at top and bottom. Yummy!

Last but not least, non-chocolate lovers should try this apple pie. It is served warm, with a scoop of fresh vanilla topped on it. The pie has a generous amount of apple fillings with strawberry sauce, and it is not too sweet too.

Overall, Hop Nob maybe be slightly out of the way, but it is definitely a nice place worth to visit for a meal with good and cosy ambience. Thumbs up!
