Humid weather, decided to go eat Ice cream before going to collect my ticket at Openrice...The ice cream was particularly delicious and i couldn't stop filling it in my mouth maybe because of the weather...Actually they also serve a wide variety of delectable Japanese desserts so don't expect high quality Japanese food here...The restaurant is just a well oiled franchise with standardised offerings catered to the mass market...

It's a day where we ordered too much food for dinner. A pot of tea, unagi with egg, beansprouts with seafood, tofu with meat and mango and prawn sushi roll. The unagi and egg sizzling pan has a bit too much onion. Unagi and egg is well-cooked. As for the tofu with meat dish, tofu is crispy on the outside and soft and silky inside. The sauce is a bit too salty. Yums Yumms mango with prawn sushi! It is displayed on an elongated porcelain plate and nicely design sushi. To me, this sushi roll is re

Yums Yumms mango with prawn sushi!
It is displayed on an elongated porcelain plate and nicely design sushi. To me, this sushi roll is really filling for a meal.

I highly recommend MOF for satisfying Japanese meal other than Chinese cuisine.

. And it was exactly what we were looking forward to ! Simple and comforting, hit the spot!

The service was good, and I think effort was made to seat the customers with at least an empty table in between. I found that very nice as so often, restaurants sort of want to "pack" us into sections, even when it's not crowded. Unfortunately, the tables made our seating rather uncomfortable. The menus are kept under the table and the extra compartment made the tables rather low for the seats. Luckily, the food and service made up for it!
The wasabi dressing for the salad made the dish very tangy and refreshing. The shitake mushroom tempuras were large and creamy. I usually find tempuras good in small doses only, but between 2, it was just right. The unagi hot stone rice was sizzling, and our server dished out just the right amount of sauce for us. Very yummy, although the unagi pieces were rather small.

We topped off our dinner with a pot of their signature "healthy" teas - waitress was good and re-filled the pot for us without us asking.
All in all, good, healthy and simple food.

Love japanese food! And most of all, I love japanese curry! It's not too hot (because I can't take spice well) and it's sweet!Didn't take photo of my food because I was busy eating but took a photo of my friend's! She ordered ebi fried with udon. Nice presentation, I must say.Also, look at the menu I took a photo of! 8.80+ for the lunch set! Oh yes, I definitely would come for their lunch sets! The tea cups on the table are displayed nicely as well. Makes me feel more japanese. Happy girl.

But overall, I find the food alright. It's nice and all, but I won't remember it because it just doesn't have the 'it's so heavenly!!!' feel yet.

i ordered a ramen set while my friend ordered vegetarian set and together we ordered one dessert .

Total cost us $50 after rounding up...

For drinks we have hot green tea which is -FOC .

The ramen i had is fried chicken ramen ...

Love the soup and ramen but not the chicken ...

The soup taste deliciously as it really bring out the Ramen .....

so i have finished up the soup before i finished my noodles and chicken ..haha

the noodles was very nice too ! it was "Q" and long ....haha

i guess the reason why it taste nice was because of this

"No Added MSG, Chemicals, Preservatives, Artificial Colourings or Flavourings"

i don;t think the chicken is nice was because i guess fried food don't really go well with soup dishes. .

their dessert we ordered was strawberry ice cream....

but i feel it is normal !

anyway , want to mention that their GREEN TEA is very nice...not because it is FOC but it really had the fragrant of the tea !

This is curry chicken bento set from MOF. My 1st time trying Japanese curry and I find it very 'powder' texture and some sort of artificial favouring. The taste just average and I still prefer our Singapore curry which taste very rich. Maybe I will try it another time then I can decide whether I like it or I totally can't accept it.

This is my first time trying MOF. I have always wanted to try their desserts cos their images always look so so good. For the main course, I tried their beef curry out of curiosity. But I shared it with a friend because one dish like this already cost $18+, too much for one person to pay for it. I thought the portion would be alot for the price like this, but no. The portion is so little and the curry gravy is too little to eat it with rice. It seems more like for people to eat for fun.For desse

For dessert, I had their famous red bean with rice dumpling. I topped it up with nuts, because it is only with an additional cost of only 40cents.
Red bean, again, is very little. Not enough to share it with friend. Rice dumpling is surprisingly nice to chew. Very springy.

Overall. Food is alright, but portion is too little. A little bit pricey.

I was walking by MOF when i saw the promotion of ordering bento and get the second one at 50% off. As there was nothing much that i wanted to have that day, i decided to go and try their main course for once. My stomach was not satisfied after the disappointing bento set, so i ordered my favorite Macha Zen, which is red bean with a scoop of green tea ice cream. I wanted almond flake to go with it, but, it so happen that the almond flake ran out that day. Another disappointment to me. The macha zen is still great without the almond though. The red bean is soft as always. The dumpling is chewy and though it does not have any taste to it, it goes well with the sweet red bean and ice cream.

MOF restaurant has been one of my favourite Japanese dining spots especially when it comes to dessert time. So when my colleague told me that she wants to try it out while we were looking for a dinner place at Suntec, I agreed to having our dinner there.

We ordered a different ramen each, 1 side dish, as well as a dessert each. Apparently, the ramen menu is new as one of the service crew actually passed us a feedback form for the ramen we ordered. Here's a review of the food & desserts we ordered that evening:

Miso Spicy Ramen ($10.50++)

The soup base was not too spicy but a bit thick, according to my colleague. I had a sip and thought the thickness was fine though I would prefer it to be spicier though. But overall, it was quite a good choice.

Tonkatsu Ramen ($8.80++)

This was my choice of ramen as I noted that it had a "Chef's Choice" sign next to it on the menu. A bit disappointing with the soup base which was a tad too sweet for my liking. It came with 2 or 3 pieces of pork slices and lots of beansprouts. I prefer the Miso Spicy Ramen to this soup base.

Kinoko Butteryaki($8.50++)

This side dish is actually 2 different types of mushrooms cooked with butter. Delicious! The butter taste was there yet not overwhelming.

Shiratama Kurian ($7.20++)

This dessert is also listed as a "Chef's Choice" & ya, it's very nice. Soft serve with Kanten Jelly, fruits, Japanese dumplings and Hokkaido red bean paste all together in 1 bowl. The Kanten Jelly is supposed to be beneficial with many vitamins & minerals, and help to reduce fats etc. There's a generous portion of this jelly.
The Japanese dumplings are very chewy which adds to the "happiness" while eating this dessert. Hehe

Macha Mixed Imo ($6.80++)

This is actually soft serve with green tea sauce, red bean paste and 1 sweet potato ball and 1 yam ball together in the bowl. Also one of my favourite desserts at MOF, and a "Chef's Choice".

There are actually many other choices of main courses/ set meals and desserts to suit your palate. So if you haven't tried out this restaurant yet, do so when u spot one! At least u definitely wun regret trying the desserts!
