I have been craving for Thai Olive Fried rice for a few days already and finally satisfied my craving during dinner! It is also known as 'Khao Ob Nam Leab' in Thai. Thai Olive Fried rice basically consist of minced chicken and fresh black olive. In Thai Express, there is also a side serving of sliced omelette, cucumbers and sauce. I love the sauce as it brings out the flavour of the fried rice!

This particular branch of ThaiExpress has a "Bistro" attached to its name and we have no idea why because it's not small and café-like, it's got two levels and serves full meals! As the name suggests, "express" is an overstatement for ThaiExpress chains. The Beef Glass Noodles was good too! The soup is clear with soft and bouncy glass noodles! The beef is also tender and strong in taste from the spices and herbs!

The Chicken was nice too! Crispy and tender! The sauce is HOT though!!

If you have a lot of time to spare and not so hungry, you can wait in this ThaiExpress Bistro.

Stuffed chicken wings $9.30++. At this price tag I expected the stuffing to be either minced meat or mushrooms...but I'm getting just fish paste! The wings were crispy and well marinated though but I'm still unsatisfied with the dish overall.

Tom Yum Crayfish glass noodle soup $15.60++. This was good, the broth is spicy and tangy enough...had a whole mid size crayfish and ample serving of grass mushrooms...nice.

Service level was alright here, waiting stuffs are prompt but not warm. Food quality here does not match the hefty price tag. For 3 not-so-outstanding dishes and a disappointing drink I paid $44+...totally not worth it! I would rather dine at other Thai restaurants.

Although there were some hits and misses here, I will still be back again because of the comfortable setting.

Feeling Thai and we opted ThaiExpress.. Not the best choice we ever made. The 3 of us were too hungry to be picky and since we were on a tight budget we chose their promotional set meal, 'Sanook Red Tom Yum Fish Soup'. It's only $8.90 and it comes with a plate of white rice, a piping hot Red Tom Yum Fish Soup, 3 Green Curry Chicken Basil Balls and lastly their Fragrant Coconut Milk Sago with Red Atap Seed.Sounds a lot dont it? So it should be an attractive meal since its costing less than 10 buck

Sounds a lot dont it? So it should be an attractive meal since its costing less than 10 bucks! But no.. it was just disappointing.. I cant taste any chicken in that green curry balls. It was bland! Their rice was too dry. I dont even wanna talk about the coconut milk sago.. it was warm and the texture, honestly just puts me off. Maybe if it was cold.. but nah.. i only take a few spoonfuls and i got put off instantly..

Should have sticked to something that was safe.. Their signature Pad Thai noodles..

The staff were very attentive and immediately agreed to the request. The food took about 10mins to arrive but it was worth the wait. There were sufficient vegetables in the dish. The pineapple tasted very succulent and the rice was fragrant. The vegetables in the rice were also well cooked and did not taste raw like they do at some places especially during peak hours.

We also had a tofu side dish with mushrooms. The only complain I do have was that it took nearly 20mins to get to us and we were almost done with our food. The serving of mushrooms was generous though. Also, the avacado juice which is really popular among many was sold out to my dismay! ): that is definitely a must try! ;D

We also had this beverage (which my boyfriend recommended and I was very skeptical about) which had coconut ice cream on top. Kinda like a float I guess. Surprisingly, that was good! lol

Besides being spicy to some, the fried rice is yummy as it is tasty with the other spices used to cook it, the amount of seafood such as prawns and squids were generous and fresh too. I also topped up a dollar for a side dessert, not sure what the actual name is but it's honeydew flavored, looked really slimy but came out pretty nice.
