This is a unique offering by Yoshimaru - I've not seen the use of yuzu in other restaurants' ramen before. There was a slight spiciness in the soup and the taste of yuzu was just right - not too strong nor subtle. At first I thought the taste of yuzu in a hot savoury soup was quite strange, but the more I drank it the more I liked it. For those who like yuzu, think you guys should give it a try!

Upon ordering, the staff will give you a small bowl of sesame. You can grind it first to release the fragrance and add the sesame to your ramen according to your preference.I can't remember the exact name of what I ordered but I believe this was an original flavour. Everything was not bad, just that the chashu slices were really thin and pathetic. I think there was only one slice, or at most two slices. Don't mind returning but wished they'd give more/thicker slices of meat.

It was divided into sections, with bars on the right and the normal
dining tables on the left. Their walls were all decorated with white
bowls.

Yoshimaru is known for its traditional Japanese Hakata Ramen and after
ordering from the friendly servers we were given a earthern stick to
grind the roasted sesame into powder then add on to the bowl of ramen.

Hakata ramen is a thin and springy type of ramen, served in Tonkotsu
(pork bone) soup that has been simmered for 13 hours. Their noodles are
made in Singapore using authentic Japanese methods to ensure its
quality.

One can opt for the spicy version of Tonkotsu ramen or the original. We
had skipped the spicy version as we wanted to have a taste of the
original. Similarly, I would say that the bowl of ramen was "oiishi"
(delicious in Japanese). Though it was miso soup base, the taste was not
overpowering.

It was quite interesting to find mini burgers on the menu. In order to
try out all flavours, I ordered the freshly toasted mini burgers

All burgers are in mini versions and were halves, though they were mini,
the stacks of ingredients that was stuffed inbetween were still too big
to have them down into my stomach in a bite.
The Mini chicken burger comes with mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce.

Yoshimaru is one of the rarer ramen places that provide sesame seeds for grounding. Although it is not necessary, I like sesame seeds which give my ramen noodles more texture and layering as a whole.

I opted for the Traditional Hakata Ramen which came as a pleasant surprise - it was better than most of the other ramen bars I have been to. Admittedly, I'm quite numb to the in-between standards, but when a good one comes along, I'll perk up immediately! This is one of them. I like how the soup base is savoury and not overpowering, soaked with the essence of pork bones for many hours. It is so thick with goodness, it's almost sinful. The ramen noodles are also springy and slurpilicious. I like how the portion is actually so big, I almost couldn't finish them even on my good appetite day. Of course, the egg was cooked to the gooey-yellow-gel perfection. Yummy!

I was eyeing the Spicy Yuzu Ramen, but the word spicy and two chilli icons beside its name were quite intimidating! After asking one of the friendly service staff, he waved it off and convinced us that it wasn't all that spicy at all. Well, as it turned out - the soup base was an enticing blend of apparent citrus yuzu flavours and spices. The burning spiciness came as an after-aftertaste and would be pretty strong after say, five mouthfuls. But one mouthful of this soup base was very blissful even for a person who is afraid of spicy food. I love interesting ramen soup bases, it's like exploring a new place!

We also ordered the Gyoza Platter to share. Quite a give and take here. While it wasn't oily - yay! - it was just a little dry on the outside - nay. On the bright side, the meats inside were moist enough for me.

Moridakusan Ramen(All-in)- Big portion, soup base has a strong pork taste. Love the ramen chewy. Meat is not fatty which I like.
Cheesy Ramen- A new promotion dish. Curry taste is strong if more cheese is added is more best.
Spicy Yuzu ramen- Just nice but for those who like to eat super spicy it is still not spicy enough.
Yuzu Drink- very tasty drink strong of Yuze. A must to order.
lime Juice- Normal

Will go back to try creamy black sesame ramen as it is out of stock that night.

There is a side of butter served with the ramen which makes the taste a little more rich and creamy!

It is a little salty but the aftertaste has a very surprising spicy kick to it which caught us off guard! Be ready with a glass of water as it is definitely not for those who can't take spicyness!

Definitely not a flavour that everyone would appreciate, I did have quite a liking for it. It can be quite jelat after a while so I would suggest that you switch bowls with your partner or order to share

Let me know how was your experience!

A generous serving of Ramen top with Half Boiled Eggs and Chashu, while being drenched with thick peanut sauce which was totally rich in flavor. This was quite a hit among us. The sauce can be quite overwhelmingly thick as you reach the end of the meal, so you probably wouldn’t be slurping it all up

This is soooooo good, I was wolfing down all of it like I haven’t eaten for 10 days.

A mix of sweet and spiciness in the brown sauce and the abundance of the cucumber strips to add to the cold ramen. This bowl of ramen is perfect for those who loves savory stuff. You should see how much I was gushing about this bowl of Ramen as I was eating it.

It is rather squeezy to enter and they have a glass door in which you have to press the button in order to go in. We were seated right beside the entrance on two very tiny stools. It's quite unconvenient and uncomfortable. I didn't like the service though, because they were rather busy and before my mother could finish ordering, the waitress walked away and we were quite upset.

Traditional Hakata Ramen - $11
the soup base was thick and the ramen was very smoothly crafted, causing it easy for us to slurp it down our throats. it wasn't too soggy nor too tough, in fact this is as close as to a real genuine bowl of japanese ramen that any outlet in Singapore can offer as of yet. the egg, which was a little runny in its' yolk, was delicious and really fresh. sadly there is just too little slices of meat. the bowl is really huge and can be shared between two people.

Yoshimaru’s Gyoza - $6
This is a MUST-BUY! The Gyoza is injected with delicious meat chunks and vegetables inside, and pan-fried till a little brownish and crispy on the outside. It is truly delicious and worth the purchase. I love the sauces that were on the table, before that they will give us a bowl of sesame seeds and we have to crush it on our own. Its' really the true Japanese way of eating.

The noodles is similiar to marutama ramen (very thin) and the soup is quite nice actually. However, i prefer the garlic burn as it has stronger taste. the egg is a little too salty for me.

Will I come again? Maybe if I have ramen cravings and around the corner.
