I've been to Yoshimaru quite a number of time. Simply love it.

There isn't much ambiance to describe here, a rather small shop, with bar-top type of seats or normal 4 person tables, it is a clean shop with good service.

The ramen here is so called "Hakata" style, which is actually a thinner and straighter type of ramen compared to those that you will usually find, so don't be surprised at first. I've tried nearly all the different types of ramen available, and I would say that the Moridakusan Ramen (All-in Ramen) ($15) is the one you should try first, if you are unsure of what to order.

This all-in ramen consists of all the available top-ups for the noodle, so you basically get to try all the different toppings at one go. It includes an egg (not half!), fish roe, seaweed, cha siu pork, spring onions and vege etc. The eggs are really very good! The yolk is still kind of half-boiled so it is very smooth to go along with the soup.

After you order your ramen, and before they serve you, they will give you a small bowl with sesame seeds. It is actually meant for you to grind the sesame and add them in the soup, so the sesame oil will make your soup taste better. So my word of advice is, order something with soup. Go with the all-in ramen or the traditional hakata ramen ($12) (similar with all-in but less vege and no fish roe) is the best choice!

Another recommendation would be the mini burger combo. You can try that if you feel like eating something small and have some variety. The 3 burgers are chicken, prawn and pork. I wouldn't recommend other sides or ordering sets because I don't think they are particularly fantastic or worthwhile. So usually for me, I'll just order my all-in ramen to go along with green tea or ice water. $20 max, which is ok for me because I really enjoy the combination of their soup and noodles.

A must-go! Must try!
