Good Food, Bad Service OK Aug 31, 2013

Headed to Wasabi Tei for lunch with my colleagues. It was supposed to open at 1230pm but we waited a long time outside. The chef was taking his time to prepare the food. The good thing was the waitress took our orders in advance.

Around 1245pm, it opened and we were ushered in to the counter seats. my chicken order arrived early. it was crispy and filling. and it came with rice and cabbage salad. there was also a seafood appetiser plus drink included. It was a good combination.

i was surprised that there was also a watermelon dessert included in the set meal. It was a good meal, but the service was bad.

Loved the Pasta Smile Aug 31, 2013

Before my roomate and I headed to the SG Night Festival, we needed sustenance. So we had dinner at Kith as recommended by my colleague. I had the Alla Vodka which was a cheesy penne pasta flavoured with vodka. As appetiser, we shared truffle fries. The fries were OK. Served hot and crispy. It still needed a bit more truffle flavour. The pasta was really good in my opinion. It was cheesy just the way I liked it that I finished everything.

Simple Burger, Simple Taste OK Aug 30, 2013

Categories : Restaurant | Steaks and Grills

For some late night dinner, my friend and I went to Charly T's. I think it was about 10pm already so I didn't want a heavy meal. I just ordered the Slappy Joe with chips. The size of the burger was just small so I wont recommend it if you're starving. But for the night, the portion was just right for me. The burger was just so simple, there are bits of tomato-sauce drenched meat, cheese, and onions.

Chips were unpleasantly chewy already, which meant that they've been exposed to air for too long.

Watery and No Taste Cry Aug 30, 2013

My friend and I were looking for a light dinner after work. And we came across Soup Spoon at Raffles. My friend recommended the Cheesy Broccoli soup so that was what I ordered. Hmm. I regretted it. It was just very watery and I kept on adding pepper so I could at least taste something. But it didn't work... The only thing I enjoyed was the bread.

Steamy Steamboat Dinner Smile Aug 30, 2013

Categories : Steamboat/Hot Pot | Noodles

After a tiring day at work, I met up with my former colleagues for a filling dinner. For some reason, I was craving for steamboat so we all headed to Hong Hu restaurant. For $19.80+, you get unlimited servings of seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients.

We chose the soup base first: Chicken and Tom Yum. The chicken soup had a very light flavour while the latter packed a punch. Tt seemed like it wasn't too spicy but after a few spoonfuls, my eyes were watery and I couldn't stop sniffing.

Anyway, we dumped some veggies first since I read somewhere that's how you maximise your steamboat dining experience. Veggies tasted better with the tom yum soup. Then, we added the meats and seafoods. The crabs were quite meaty despite the small size.

My friends and I also enjoyed the dessert selection, despite being very limited. The watermelon was very juicy. It was an exceptionally good dinner...it was so good that I felt like it was a Friday night.
