Lunch Out! OK Dec 23, 2012
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Had a lunch gathering with my ex-colleagues at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. My second visit here.

Food
1. We ordered the honey chicken dried noodles - very yummy and delicious! The honey chicken pieces were nicely done! The noodles were very smooth!
2. Iced HK milk tea - not too sweet!
3. Boiled coke - interesting!

Service
As one of my colleagues was pregnant and I requested to seat nearer to the entrance. The restaurant was only 30% occupied at that hour. They had difficulty allowing me to opt for a seat near to the entrance when the whole row of tables near to the entrance were empty. I thought they could be more flexible in acceding to customer's request.

Ambience
Parts of the restaurant were dimly lit. Overall acceptable except for the not so compassionate service.

Lunch Out!  Smile Dec 23, 2012

Trust me, you will love the taste of Vietnamese food from this stall! Much better than Nam Nam and there are more ingredients too!!! I think the correct name of this stall should be Sunny Viet (as put at the top left corner of the stall).

Anyway, I ordered the mixed beef combination pho ($5.80) and fried spring roll ($4.50). The serving was generous for the beef pho with so many ingredients! smile The soup tasted so refreshing and the fried spring rolls tasted the same as the ones I had in Hanoi back in July! lol Worth to try out this stall if you have craving for PHO, especially to those people working in the cbd area!

I believe the stall holder and the helper are both Vietnamese as they could not understand what I spoke in English. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend you to try this stall! Cheap & good!

Lau Pa Sat is not as hot and stuffy. Look for a seat under the fan, you will feel better while enjoying your pho! smile

My second visit to Saint Marc Cafe! smile

Their desserts are MUST-TRY!!!! I ordered the Kyoto Delight - big serving for two after dinner. Kyoto Delight comprises of softee, green tea ice-cream, freshly made red bean paste, japanese tea jelly, glutinous balls and the base was made up of some sort of cake (bit salty but nice!), cornflakes and caramel sauce! FANTASTIC TASTE! smile

Service was prompt and staff were polite. They seemed to like from Japan. Ambience of the cafe was good and lighting was just right for a nice hangout with friends or loved ones.

Do go and try their desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth! lol

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Curries

Our first visit at Mr Curry. Here's a quick review:

Food
1. Fried Salmon with Cheese Curry Rice (Very Spicy chosen) - Small Serving, curry wasn't too spicy though I chose the very spicy option. I think the curry tasted nicer than coco-ichibaya.
2. Seafood Curry Noodle - Fresh seafood ingredients. However, the curry soup base was too salty.
3. Yuzu Soda - Tasted refreshing as usual!

Ambience
1. Simple design and good lighting. Not too romantic for couple. Good for a quick meal.

Service
1. The staff were very young and efficient. After we finished our meal, they immediately came to clear up our table.

Dinner Out!  Cry Dec 19, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Desserts and Cakes | Sushi/Sashimi

I didn't really have a good impression of MOF after visiting it two years back. We decided to go and try it again at the Jurong Point branch. The sushi were freshly served. The half chicken which I ordered was crispy but meat was a bit tough. The coleslaw serving was huge! The baked potato was not done well - too hard and little bacon bits were sprinkled on top. What's the worst thing when you are having a western meal for dinner? There's NO MORE chili sauce. Omg, I can't believe it as it was only 8+pm and they ran out of chili sauce and they did not even bother to go to FairPrice (which was nearby) to top up their chili sauce. I will not visit MOF ever again.
