A Banana leaf experience Smile Jan 27, 2013

Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Curries

For those taking public transport, Karu's is located just in front of a bus stop along bukit timah rd.
For those who drive, there is ample parking space behind the shophouses.

If u like sugar, spice and everything nice, this Indian restaurant is the place to visit. lol

Sink your teeth into the fish head curry and steaming hot rice. You wont stop eating until that very last grain. U can ask for more rice, papaddum, and side veggies at no extra charge. The lime juice goes well with the dish too.tongue

Try the ginormous masala prawns, and curry fried crab. U wont regret it! For non-seafood eating people, there are other meat dishes that you can choose from on display. Or try the masala tosai fresh from the kitchen. Have a glass of ginger tea with it, to satisfy your palate for something sweet. But note that they only serve tosai and prata after 3pm.

Be prepared to go home spelling of curry and spices as the whole restaurant is filled with it. Overall a delicious and splendid experience for the teastebuds.smile

Located at a cosy corner of plaza sing, you have to make a reservation in order to avoid a long Q.
The waitresses were extremely warm and welcoming. Some of the tables are specially fitted with a mini aquarium in the middle that lets u see the fish swimming while u eat (a wonderful guilt-trip for those who order fish dishes)..... smile

The dishes were great but if u're health conscious, make sure u tell them LESS OIL when u're ordering. Oil seems to be 'free' in some of their dishes, so it is a MUST to emphasize on less oil if u dont like greasy brinjals and tofu.

A new membership card is out so grab them while u can.

A wonderful spread of sweet, spicy and tangy. There's a dish for every1 - vegans, meat-lovers, salad lovers, and even the sweet-toothed. Lots of fresh sashimi and mouth-watering poultry. Also, be prepared to stuff your face with chocolate strawberries, freshly coated with warm chocolate from the fondue section. Those with kids might want to indulge them in M&Ms just for this meal. Lots of candy for those who love sugar.tongue

If I had a hand phone which can take good pix, I would've taken photos of every dish this place has!
Opened by Malaysian-born and internationally renowned Chef Wan, this buffet spread has an ecclectic blend of spice vs fusion cooking.
From Rojak to sashimi right down to crispy fresh fish keropok, you probably wouldn't know where to start.
Recommended dishes would be the Hokkien noodles with generous servings of sambal belachan, grilled seafood, and the Mee Siam.
My favorite dessert would have to be the waffle with a scoop office cream on top. Wash it down with a splendid cup of hot sugarless tea from the drink bar and you'll be rubbing your tummy happily.
For those who luurve chilli, you'll be happy to know this place has chilli packed with a good punch. Not for the faint-taste buds. Or if you want the challenge, just standby a glass of ice water and you're good to go. smile

The best thing that made me happy was the price. All that food for that price?? I'll be going back real soon.

Comfort food on a rainy day Smile Dec 16, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Dim Sum | Seafood

This restaurant has good food that is reasonable priced and serves seafood live from the aquarium. Bring your camers if you wanna take a picture of your live catch before you devour it. smile u can choose the style of cooking you want for the dish, or u could also juz leave it up to the chefs. The waitresses are friendly and accomodating (most are chinese-speaking) but they try hard to please English-speaking diners too. They have discounts on seafood everyday so it's really worth the money. Dont forget your cameras!
