Braised Duck Review 3 Smile Mar 10, 2011
Categories : Singaporean Chinese

I used to study in a junior college that is situated in lorong chuan. Really near to serangoon. My group of friends and I would always be in search of yummy food.
This is another stall we found to have delicious and well, rather cheap food. You can smell the fragrant the moment you step near the stall. There isn't that much a queue but you can see that there is a significant number of people consuming the duck rice. The duck is tender and so soaked in the gravy that even you can even taste the gravy sauce in the skin of the duck. Delicious thing.

Braised Duck Review 2 OK Mar 10, 2011

Categories : Food Court

For those craving for yummy braised duck rice, you can continue on reading the previous and following few reviews of mine on braised duck!
Being a student in NTU and staying there, I get so sick of the food in school sometimes so i decided to head out to find some nice ducky in jurong area.
The braised duck rice here is okay. Not fantastic but not horrible either. The gravy they use to braise it probably isn't filled with much ingredients. I can taste mostly the sweet and salty taste but there is nothing special about it. The rice is cooked with yam and i guess thats the only part i like about this stall. Delicious yam rice!!!

Cakes with Toys! Smile Mar 10, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Bakery | Café

When i say cakes with toys, i don't mean there is toys on or in the cake. It just simply means enjoying your cake in an environment filled with interesting things such as the ancient wooden toys, etc. This is because the shop is shared with The Little Drom Store, a gift shop with lots of vintage and quirky eye candy.

The cakes there are delicious.
I would recommend the Little Red Riding Hood which cost $8.50 contains 70% dark chocolate mousse with raspberry centre. It is so amazing that it is rich and dense, yet light and smooth at the same time. A must try!
It is maintained by a couple (he bakes, she serves) in which have clearly put a lot of loving effort into a small but excellent selection of cakes and pastries.

Sidenote: It is closed on Monday!

I always love hawker food. They are cheap and yummyyyy. Especially when you know which stalls to go to.
This kway chap stall is one of my frequent. There is usually an extremely long queue during lunch time but its definitely worth the wait.
The kway there is smooth and soft and the chap has a strong herbal taste to it. Yummyyyy. My favourite dishes in kway chap are the pig's intestine and stomach which ain't easy to handle. But their pig's intestine and stomach has no foul smell and its cleaned throughly. The gravy got into the ingredients and tasted just right!
A must try!!!!

Chinese Mutton Soup.  Smile Mar 10, 2011

Categories : Coffeeshop | Chinese Soup

As usual, my boyfie and I are on our weekend hunt for food. Well, i am on the hunt. He is always the one recommending.
Since we are around bugis area, he decided to bring me to this mutton soup stall. He loves mutton soup but not so much for me. I don't really like the mutton smell.
However, I love the mutton soup from this stall and has been asking him to bring me there ever since that time.
There is no stinky smell. The soup taste great! Clear and yummy. The mutton is tender with slight softbones which gives it a crunchy texture. Delicious!
The stall is situated at a not so significant place and run by a group of friendly aunties. It just under went renovation and thus is cleaner and has more seats available(although there isn't alot of seats still).
