Frozen Yoghurt - Tart with Granola

Frozen Yoghurt - Tart with Granola

The 1st frozen yogurt from Coffee Bean I had was from the Sentosa outlet last year and I wasn't ready for frozen yoghurt then. Since I have been liking frozen yoghurt, in a warm afternoon after my lunch, I was surprised and so happy to see the frozen yoghurt in the menu list of the Coffee Bean outlet at Rail mall!

I ordered the tart with granola topping. I was told that the tart has the sour taste, whereas the vanilla will be more of the sweeter version. I'm not sure of how the vanilla one taste though.

I am very satisfied with the one that I ordered. I love the creamy texture, and it has an unique creamy and milky aftertaste which I now proclaim it as my favorite frozen yoghurt. It was so good that I travel all the way from Hougang to Rail Mall the next day to have it again!

Ever since the Japanese restaurant at the basement of The Adelphi closed, it has been years I had tasted such good sushi made in Singapore. The ingredients are fresh and you can feel the warmness of the sushi rice when savouring the delicious sushi!

This was my first time to this restaurant, hence all the dishes seem so interesting to me. There is a lot of variety and many of them are new dishes to me, not the usual ones that you can find in other Japanese chain restaurants. Take a look at the photos, you will see some of the unique ones that I had tasted. I have a hard time to select the 8 photos from my list of photos. You will find alot of new, fresh and high-quality fishes and other ingredients such as cod liver and foie gras in the menu.

I simply love the uniqueness of the baked stuffed crab, the tamago with curry lobster. The tamago are comparable to the ones that I had in Tokyo. I will definitely go back for more!

Lor Mee better than Laksa Smile Jul 02, 2011

A long queue awaits us at this lor mee and laksa stall on a weekend morning, We ordered both lor mee and laksa at $2.50 each. The lor mee gravy was of the right texture, not too thick, not too "liquid" and has the braised taste that my mum described it as the old taste she had in the past. For a $2.50 bowl of noodle, it was filled with loads of side dishes, it comes with fishcake slices, braised egg, fried dumpling and most delicious were the braised meat slices! The braised meat slices were highly receommended, they were braised to the right texture and they taste so good!

I do not recommend the laksa, as I felt that the gravy was not as nice. It looks and tastes like the coconut milk was not cooked in the right way.

Just go for the lor mee! smile

Braised wild boar meat

Braised wild boar meat

Dad recommended me to this stall, and he queued for this plate of wild boar meat. Are we allow to sell this kinda meat in Singapore food centre? I am not sure.

I remembered when I was young, about 20 over years ago, we have wild boar meat, and when it was banned, I tried that at Batam. I managed to have this plate of wild boar last year and it was great, the texture was soft and the meat was like melt in your mouth! smile

You will see alot of eldery uncles ordering this plate of meat and they go with their beer in this food centre.

Best chinese-style sashimi Smile Jun 23, 2011

Best chinese-styled sashimi ever!

Best chinese-styled sashimi ever!

This stall used to be located in the Empress Road Food Centre, off Farrer Road. For many years, before my marriage till now I am married for years, it was the thought of the sashimi that had made me or my hubby to wake up early to feast on the sashimi! ~ smile

The porridge was well-prepared and there are all sorts of varieties, I normally order the mixed pork porridge, minced pork porridge or the century egg-cuttlefish porridge. The fried beehoon was good as well.

Most importantly as I had mentioned above, the fresh chinese-styled sashimi was the BEST I had ever tasted. We would always ordered more than 1 plate! tongue The $4 plate of freshly sliced sashimi is garnished with loads of spring onions, fresh-cut chilies, ginger and fried shallots and the delicious special sauce (should be soy sauce & sesame oil). After so many years, the standard and quality of the food did not drop at all and this is indeed commendable. It's making drool again! tongue
