Went down to Saveur for lunch at their new outlet at Far East.

This newly opened outlet is the 2nd after Purvis Street. The decor here appears more 'high-class' compared to Purvis, and has a open style kitchen (think Hell's Kitchen).

Tried the Saveur Pasta with Sakura Ebi, Garden's Salad with Quail egg, and Salmon Confit for starters.

For main, had their signature Duck Confit. Too full for dessert although will try them the next round. Overall an affordable restaurant serving French-styled cuisine.

Reasonable Japanese Curry Rice OK Apr 09, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

Headed for lunch with a few colleagues.

The restaurant is properly renovated, but sitting capacity is rather small. What i rather like is that you don't walk in to find a table, you ordered at the counter and they tell you which table to sit, which sorts of stop those "tissue choping" people.

We ordered the Cheesy Pork Katsu Curry Rice, Pork Shabu Shabu Curry Rice, Fish Fillet Curry Rice and the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice. You get to choose the level of Spiciness ranging from 1 to 5. According to the counter staff, you can actually request higher levels if you are game for it. The food came quite fast and the plates they used were huge.

Well, the cheese didn't melt entirely and it doesn't really go well with the curry. As you can see from the photo, the number of "rings" on the curry tells you what level of spiciness, this is a 3 flame curry sauce. at $14, it's not really worth the money.

The fish was pretty well done.

The Prok Shabu Shabu seems like th emost bang for buck dish, comes with omelette as well.

Hidden in the upper levels of Far East Shopping Centre is a small eatery serving Chinese mixed vegetable rice.

Selection is small for the mix rice but this stall do offer a rotating menu of mee on a daily basis. Curry Chicken mee, Laksa, Prawn Noodle, Yong Tau Foo to name a few.

The thing to take note is a 2 meat 1 vege mixed rice + a can of drink cost around $3.70 to $4.50! In the heart of Orchard.

Of Rice Burgers and Corn Soup OK Feb 23, 2013

We always love the ambience of MOS burgers. The outlets emit a zen like feel and the junction 8 outlet is pretty spacious with our fave side long seats that offers quite a bit of privacy for conversations. Foodwise, our must haves include the MOS nuggets and a hot creamy corn soup. Service was rather slow even though it was not dinner time. I was in the queue for a good 15minutes. As they operate on ‘prepare upon request’ system, the food always arrived hot so it is worth a little wait, but it is usually quite hard for find a table during peak hours

Awesome sweet corn! OK Feb 23, 2013

Out of all the various options to eat Fried Chicken, this would be my pick. The batter coated fried chicken has a unique taste, and the meat is still relatively juicy, without being too oily. I also feel that the Fried Fish is pretty good.

Personal favourite for sides include the Biscuit, Mashed Potato, Corn and Onion Rings. I always look forward to that buttery explosion of flavour from biting into a biscuit, and it crumbles so easily in the mouth. The mashed potato comes bathed in a tasty brown, meat gravy that goes really well together. The corn is very tasty! And the onion rings are huge circles of battered and fried onion slices, still juicy on the inside and gives a nice crunch when bitten.
