This ramen shop has the smallest menu variety but There is a reason why people go back because they are good at what they do!
Spicy Nama Karashi Ramen( Tamago), $12 & Gyoza, $5

Spicy Nama Karashi Ramen( Tamago), $12 & Gyoza, $5

I drank so much of the delicious, creamy, fragrant soup that I couldn’t finish my ramen! tongue
I have not yet come across any ramen that has this kind of broth! The soup seems to contain A LOT of essence, as if 10kg of meat & bones were used to cook a bowl. It was glistening! The ramen noodles itself, were very normal though.

Recommended Dish(es):  Spicy Nama Karashi Ramen,Gyoza

Spending per head: Approximately $15(Dinner)

Brilliant Seafood Risotto Smile Jan 28, 2013

Categories : Bars/Lounges | High Tea | Brunch

Located just beside The Cathay, I totally love the black interior of Blackbird Cafe & its quirky name!

They serve Italian to breakfast, to western food.

Ordered quite a number of dishes, but the best has got to be this:
Seafood Risotto

Seafood Risotto

Risotto that burst with rich seafood flavor. Every bite was an indulgence.

The scallops were very tender & fresh. All of them who tried love it. Only tiny issue is that I probably can’t finish it alone as it was quite salty for me.
I’ll definitely remember to request them to go lighter on the saltiness as this is really delicious!

Quiet weekday chillout Smile Jan 27, 2013

Kith Cafe (Park Mall, Dhoby Ghaut). They serve breakfast/brunch until 3pm.
Grilled Chicken Salad, $15.

Grilled Chicken Salad, $15.

Consisting of only rocket greens, we assumed that this is gonna be one bitter-all-the-way dish but our tongues were definitely taken by surprise with the green apple shreds that give an extremely refreshing (sweet & slightly sour) blast to the greens. The grilled chicken portion is generous enough for 2 of us. I would wish the chicken meat to be a bit less hard & more tender instead. The sunflower seeds were another additional to this salad that created its uniqueness.
Truffle Fries, $9.50.

Truffle Fries, $9.50.

The fries were fried to almost perfection and I like it that it wasn’t oily. The truffle amount is average but then too much will be overwhelming. Will definitely order this again next time.

Handmade pastas all under $20! Smile Jan 19, 2013

Categories : Italian | Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | Pasta

Platypus' 3rd outlet, they took over V8 cafe at Bugis junction. Catering to the crowd at Bugis Junction, most, if not all of their handmade pastas are under $20.

They have a unique drinks menu as well. My favourite is the 'Pink Lemonade' & "Smith's Ale' (beer cocktail)

What's great about Platypus Kitchen is that their food presentations really stay as close as to the photos in the menu! The food and ingredients are of good quality, not to mention their generous portion.

Thick french fries seasoned with white truffle oil and topped with shaved truffles.

Prawns sautéed in olive oil and garlic then finished with fresh parsley.
The prawns were so fresh, chewy yet crunchy. The most ideally-cooked kind of prawns that I love!

Egg Tagliolini with prawns and crab claw meat tossed in a spicy egg sauce. The portion of the prawns and crab meat is really generous and fresh!

Bucatini tossed in flying fish roe sauce, topped with crab claw meat, Tobiko and seaweed.

Supple crispy-skin pork belly served with braised apples, garden vegetables and honey & clove apple glaze.
Love the unique taste of this!
