ungenerous portions OK Oct 17, 2012

the food here is not bad. their chendol looked big in the pictures around the shop and in the menu. but when it arrived, it was the smallest chendol i ever saw. served in a stainless steel little bowl, there is a small pile of crushed ice - not shaved ice. the ice was not very fine at all. the gula melaka syrup was very good and well balanced. the red beans were cooked just right and not mushy. however, the portion was way small. about $6!

average curry puff OK Oct 17, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

the curry puff was fragrant and fresh and very greasy. there was no egg and i prefer egg in my curry puff. old chang kee is still one of the best for the traditional curry puff. did not like the greasiness of the puff here. comparatively, old change kee has much less grease. the service is fast and efficient. not very friendly service. not much ambience as it is a take away. overall the puff was alright as it was fresh and warm. the curry potatoes was well spiced. about $2

steamed cake Cry Oct 02, 2012

Categories : Chinese Desserts

the steamed cake here is too crumbly. makes it very hard to eat as it keeps crumbling while you're trying to eat it. service is gruff and unfriendly. cost about $3. not very tasty at all. would not recommend it. would prefer a cake that didn't crumble so much. luckily it's sealed in individual packs so you don't have to cut it and risk crumbling more cake before eating it.

vegetables from din tai fung Smile Oct 02, 2012

the vegetables here are quite fresh and not too many holes. it's got a tasty sauce on top and slightly over salty. love the little flower heads of the vegetables. service is very slow and takes them a long time to bring the food to the table. but the food tasted pretty good. the furnishings and ambient is great too. they seem to be very busy even though they have a lot of staff. it is very hard to get someone's attention unless you wave some money around. cost about $10 for this dish

great taiyaki Smile Oct 02, 2012

love the taiyaki here. quite firm pastry. holds the filling well. the filling is red bean original, which had some whole beans, which is good. reasonable pricing at around $2.50. they only start cooking when they open the store, so you have to wait about an hour before you can get one of these in your hand. best eaten hot. it held up to steam very well and did not go soggy.
