Roasted delights Smile Mar 30, 2011

I always go for roasted duck and roasted meat. Both are equally good, the duck was tender and juicy, and the roasted meat came with a layer of crispy skin which i enjoy a lot, and i really like how they chopped the roasted meat into chunky pieces. The dark gravy got a tinge of nice herbal taste and it went really well with the meats and the rice.

Sometimes when i went for late lunch around the time when the stall was about to close, the nice auntie will give me a duck drumstick at $4.00, the same price that i paid for roasted duck meat with roasted meat.

Strongly recommended.

Value for $ western set Smile Mar 30, 2011

Good value western set at only $5.00. A portion of crispy chicken, french fries, coleslaw with white rice. All these came together with a bowl of nice mushroom soup. The portion for everything is in large amount, both the sauce on the rice and chicken were really nice too. What more can i ask? If really something is missing then perhaps is a nice after meal dessert to make it complete.

This is definitely the most value for money western set that i ever came across. Strongly recommended.

Beef Muturbak Smile Mar 30, 2011

This can be one of the better lunch options when i do not want to have rice or noodle. I usually go with chicken and onion, a matching combination to make a delicious muturbak. The curry sauce is quite disappointing, it tasted diluted and not aromatic so i usually eat it plain and leave the curry sauce aside.

The portion is definitely reasonable for $4.00. If you do not like chicken then other option is mutton. If you think muturbak is a little too filling then you can go for prata. They do have noodle option as well.

This stall is usually quiet even during lunch time but the foods tasted rather good.

The nicely Penyet Chicken Smile Mar 29, 2011

This is the branch of the famous Ayam Penyet over at Changi Village. I was excited when i spotted this stall, this is definitely a more convenient location as compared to Changi Village.

The chicken was crispy and nicely penyet, the meat was still firm and not too messy. The chilli was a little too spicy to my liking, but to those that love spicy foods, the spiciness might be just right. And, i do think the standard here is comparable to their original stall at Changi Village.

Do give it a try when you are in town.

Nice mee pok! Smile Mar 29, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Hawker Centre

This stall used to be at underneath the thomson flyover at the junction of whitley road a long time ago. I suppose not many of the younger generation know about this and that is why this stall is called Tian Qiao Xia-Whitley Road. And, the 'Tian Qiao' is referred to the flyover.

This bowl of mee pok has nice texture and when mixed nicely with their aromatic chilli, you get a bowl of delicious bowl of mee pok dry. The order came along with 5 nice bouncy fishball and a few slices of nice and tasty fishcake. This stall is selling fishcake on its own at $1.00. I love it so much and usually order 2 to go along with my noodle.

This stall is definitely worth recommending. Do try it if you happen to be at Lavender. smile
