You can get hawker fare here such as chicken rice, barbeque sambal stingray, chill crab, herbal drunken prawns, fish assam style and stir fried veg with garlic. Difference is it’s done really well restaurant-style yet at a affordable price. Mian dishes aside, I’m a HUGE fan of the the yam paste with pumpkin and sago ($4.30) here. It’s not overly sweet and is tastefully done. What’s perfect is the coconut ice cream. You got to try this if you visit Baits.

I love the samsui chicken here because there's not much seasoning. Of course the ginger sauce plays a huge role in complimenting the chicken. For 2 person, I would recommend the samsui chicken, a bowl of soup and another dish for a complete meal. Their double-boiled soup is superlicious. Usually I'll go with the Double Boiled Dried Scallop with Black Chicken Soup. When I miss granma I'll order this. Hehe. Anyway servings for the samsui chicken is quite more than enough for 2. My only complain is that the seats are uncomfortable. No idea who came up with the idea that chinese style restaurants has to force their patrons to use uncomfy hard stools so the restaurants can have an oriental ambiance. Boo Boo. That's dumb. Customer comfort should matters more. SO from now on, I will pop by again ONLY if I peek and see comfy chairs.

Always ends up with the same dish Smile Apr 13, 2011

Come here at least once a week for the papaya noodles soup dish with ultra crispy luncheon meat. I love the milky texture of this dish which always fills me up with glee! Their menu is super extensive with over 200 items but I somehow always ended ordering the same thing! ANYWAY other stuff which I personally always never fail to have whenever I visit this franchise of restaurants are the unagi porridge and mushroom porridge or the toasts which are all of satisfactory standards.

The only dish that gave me mixed feelings so far was the prata with chicken curry. Prata was crispy enough to my liking but the curry was a tad too sweet instead of spicy. Will update again when I decide to go beyond my comfort zone and order something new instead of my usuals. Ah as most of their outlets close only at 1pm, it has become a perfect place to visit whenever I have food cravings late into the night. Speaking of which. I’m gaining weight. Boo boo.

I am huge huge huge fan of the Tangy Tomato with Basil soup!!! Am always craving for soup spoon whenever I feel fat or that I just need some comfort food. Always have to pay a few more cents to have an extra bun to go with the soup but it’s totally worth it.Their bread is really tasty! Dip it, slurp it, eat it! Oh do go for the SouperValue Combo Meal which includes a soup, either a salad or sandwich and either a pack of chips or apple.
