Lil Cousin's Bday Smile Nov 28, 2010
Categories : Singaporean | Bakery

It was 9pm and me & relatives were looking around my neighbourhood market place for cake. It was for my lil cousin's birthday. Thinking that we might get good chocolate cakes from Prima Deli, we made our way there. However, there was only 1 cake left. So we decided to look around first. My aunt brought us to Swee Heng and recommended the cakes there. I was surprised that this heartland bakery shop offers a wide range of cakes and some of them were creatively made. (e.g doremon, bear, etc) My lil cousin chose a lovely chocolate cake and we bought that. It tasted great and i will definitely go back again for its bread and cakes. i'm not sure of the price as i didnt paid for it, but i remembered it was cheaper than the usual standard price. smile

Too expensive for its quality OK Nov 28, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen | Kids-Friendly

Me and bf wanted to try out this japanese casual dining as we were captured by its striking red brand signage at the entrance. And it was crowded on a friday night, we thought that this place might serve good japanese food! I ordered grilled salmon ramen (with 3 choices of spicyness) and i chose the 1st level of spicyness. It was just right for me as i didnt want too spicy for a light soupy dinner. The texture of the noodle wasnt even as good as the ones at Ajisen. I was expecting something better for a price of $15.80 for the ramen. The gyoza($4.80) tasted normal (cuz i've eaten better one elsewhere). However, one plus about this place is that they served sushi (in the fridge near the entrance, not in the menu) at 40% off. We have a plate of salmon oyako maki ($7.50) and it costed only $4+ after the discount.

Sweet Crusted Macarons! Smile Nov 27, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery

This was my first time eating macarons. I bought a packet of 6s that costs $10. Each pc is $1.80. I ate the pink, brown and green color. Oh, just a tip. After i bought back home, i placed in the freezer for about 15mins before i eat it. The pink one tasted like plum (but actually its strawberry!), the brown one is chocolate while the green one is macha (green tea). They tasted great when chilled with a smooth texture on the outside and airy within. I believe a better quality of macarons will practically melt in your mouth when you bite it. I have no idea why macarons are quite expensive though. I'm always greedy for a bigger portion when it comes to dessert.

50 licks of Ice Cream Smile Nov 26, 2010

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk

After lunch at the kopitiam in Jurong East central, me and colleagues went to get some ice cream at Mr Bean! It costs just $1 for a Soya Ice Cream Cone when presented with the coupon! The coupon can be obtained at the counter. (haha.) The ice cream tasted great and healthy!

Spongy Fishball  OK Nov 24, 2010
Categories : Food Court

I am a noodle lover and i recommend this place if you're looking at a simple soupy lunch with spongy fishballs. Although the portion is sufficient to fill my stomach, i believe it's kinda little for guys. Service of this store is fast and good as there is an aunty to take order at the counter. Best of all, its not self service.
