Quick snack anyone? Smile Dec 05, 2010

Actually wanted to do a review on the Outram outlet but unfortunately was not able to locate it on the database so am going to tag this review to its Seng Poh outlet.

For any gluttons that are keen to have hot piping quick snacks within the TIong Bahru area, Tiong Bahru Pau is the place to consider especially on its strategic location along the Outram road that is pretty much situated and set as a drive through fast food booth!

Park you car by the road side, and in less than 1 minute, you will most probably be landing your hands on their daily freshly made steam buns or snacks. An extensive range of snacks available for sale, TBP @ Outram is your solution to our Chinese fast food!

Craving for prawn mee? Smile Dec 05, 2010

Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

Had our lovely lunchie together with gF and family after her photo shoot.

Been a regular with Hock Prawn Mee for the last 6 months after chancing it on one of my almost fainted workday day due to late late lunch…..it will definitely be a listing on MFMB!!! This stall is the brainchild of 3 hardworking elderly…2 Popo and 1 Ah Gong…who are still fighting fit and persevering on their dreams to provide all its patron the ideal prawn mee!

The generous serving of prawn mee with pork ribs came with the additional pig skin ( $4 Per Bowl ) which is one of my requested favourite side kick to be paired for the quick delight. The soup base is clear, non oily which is not overpowering with prawns or the pork bones vice versa. Bean sprouts are crisp and crunchy that compliment the noodle that is waving within the soup base which plays the significant role of not portraying any form of preservations within. Prawns are fresh and pre-prepared for all patrons to enjoy without having the hassle to peel them off. Pig skin are well cooked coupled with soft texture and highly recommended to go with chilli padi!

A no nonsense hawker stall that seek to preserve its values and ethics within the prawn mee all in 24 hours a day! Yes…its open for business for 24 hours! Ups!

A must have for all prawn mee lovers!

Sawadee! Cry Dec 02, 2010

Categories : Thai

Came across this restaurant during lunch time and decided to give my $10 note a go with what i can have at this cosy corner outlet.

However, am disappointed on the food quality and guess that i could have a better experience with other Thai food outlet in the heart of Golden Mile building. Placed an order of Basil Chicken set lunch and a top up on $2 with a Tom Yam soup that comes with a cup of coffee. Reasonable for the quantity but not on the quality.

The Basil Chicken served was far too sweet and does not feel authentic on how a Thai food should have tasted. The Tom Yum soup was far too overpowering with spices and lemon grass that made the soup all complicated but nice, I was surprised to know that this restaurant was actually voted by HungryGoWhere for the most popular Tom Yam Soup. sad

I guess the only positive thing with the restaurant is that the services provided is prompt and serving staff are attentive with the GEM values. Kudos to their service attitude and would really hope that their kitchen crew would improve on their cooking standards.

Will not be back for any meals unless i can be convinced that there's a turnout of crowd in future to support its cooking standards.
