small wan tan Cry Aug 22, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

The noodle served here was actually pretty good, though I feel that it is still not the best one in singapore, hardly find a decent wantan mee in singapore though.

The wan tan were actually very very good! freshly made, meaty yet with appropriate amount of other such as fungus, very juicy and tasted awesome. Char Siu could be a little thin, not too juicy and caramelize. char siew play an important role in a plate of wantan mee, it added the flavor to the noodle as well.

Normal wantanmee. still looking around for the best one in singapore.

Fake Macaroon? Cry Aug 22, 2011

Categories : Desserts and Cakes | Burgers and Sandwiches

Had a tiring day doing shopping at takashimaya last weekend and came across Pique Nique which just open not long ago and got attracted by the deco and their packaging places in-front the counter. Never dine in as we are running out of time and shops are closing soon, there for i decided to take away some dessert.

Bought a box of Whoopie Pies ($1.80 each). and It looks like a macaroon!

These Whoopie pies are made of sponge cake sandwiches creamy centers, selling at $1.80 each. ridiculous! and i was mistakenly thought it was macaroon wasted my money buying such NOT SO NICE macaroon look alike cake! never try this, its ridiculous over price for such cake pie.

typical prawn noodle Cry Aug 18, 2011
Categories : Fusion | Food Court | Chicken Rice | Noodles

Tried this at Cendex Cafeteria for dinner because it is nearby where im staying. Its just an ordinary stall, somehow i always associate long queues with good food, but sometimes we just need to explore and give the others a chance!

The soup are quite tasty and clear, I like the broth more which tasted naturally sweet, just that the portion is kinda small which really reminds me of Penang Prawn noodle but of cause not as tasty as that. and the prawn are ridiculous small!

i still prefer penang prawn mee with the pork bones broth with reddish prawn and chilli oil swimming on top

Spending per head: Approximately $3.00

Hidden coffee shop Cry Aug 18, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop

There is a hidden coffee shop middle of the HDB in jalan bukit ho swee. It has became a hangout place for all the residents at that area.

Finally get to try it some weekend and ordered a char hor fun for myself. The char hor fun at this coffee shop is recommended but it is rather disappointing, Not much of tasty char hor fun as other coffee shop. But it was serve in very big portion. Surprised that they use fish cake like the Malaysian standard of hor fun, instead of fish slices. The prawns were seasoned with bicarbonate, I think, as they were crystal crunchy but no flavor.

overall, not much of wok hei.

Spending per head: Approximately $4

overly sweet ice-cream Cry Aug 17, 2011
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Bought the buy one free one voucher from deal.com and went to somerset 313 to redeem the ice cream. the decor is so cheerful and bright and easily spotted at the lower-ground floor of the mall. It reminds me a lot of Coldstone Creamery, they have the almost the same flavor and allow you to mix in any other toppings.

Th staff there wasn't efficient and when they served me the ice cream its already half melted. That is the most turn-off thing ever when u visit an ice cream store.

I had some generic Cookies and Cream that was horribly grainy, like it wasn't properly mixed or something. It was so disappointing. and it is overly sweet!

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Supper)
