A new afternoon tea place OK Mar 20, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : French | Bakery | Café | Desserts and Cakes

This new cafe that use to be coffeclub made into a quaint shop that serves coffee and French pastries is my new favorite hangout. Paul Bakery basically is a French style bakery that has pastries, soup, and sandwiches too.

The croissants are flaky, the coffee hot and fresh, and the service is wonderful. We also ordered a meringue pie which very satisfying.

It is a very great potential place that will bring up the french afternoon tea trend up to all of the foodie lover. Biggest problem dining here will be the long queue and crowds. It has a take away counter that it's a great place to pick up freshly baked treats on your way home.

Decent chicken rice OK Mar 20, 2012

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Restaurant | Chicken Rice

The reason i bought my take away chicken rice frm this place is because the next door are always crowded and have to wait. Speaks about chicken rice, there is so many out there in singapore where they can compete with each and other.

Five star hainanese chicken rice is definitely not the most appealing among the rest. The rice are quite sticky and oily, and it did not deliver the chicken scent at all. Chicken are quite tender and chewy but portion are small.

Somehow i have this added some extra marks for them for providing such a cute bento container for us. And not forgetting how generously are they to gave us big amount of black soy sauce and garlic.

Huge scone OK Mar 20, 2012

Categories : Italian

This is a premium gourmet shop situated in great world city. They serve very premium take away food. This is a rather hit and miss place where they do not have tables and chair for people wanted to have their meal there.

I passed by the other day and couldn't help stopping in. Despite the somewhat hefty $3.50 price tag, I grabbed a huge chocolate chip scone which catches my attention.

Wow. It was some of the best scones I've ever had. Flavorful, soft and chewy. Outright addictive. That was so good, in fact, that I travel few km once a week just to buy their scones and share with loves one!

Meanwhile, their gourmet cakes are awesome too which comes a little bit pricey and pack in a very small container.

Hangout place OK Mar 16, 2012

Categories : Italian | European | Café | Pasta | Burgers and Sandwiches

Had drinks at this place with friends after a heavy dinner. The environment was quite cosy and services are good. They have outdoor and indoor seating. They do serve a few varieties of pastas, and I eyed a Penne pesto from their board. Prices start from a very reasonable.

Due to our heavy dinner we only able to stuff in drinks and dessert. Order a tiramisu from Baci because they have ran out of their signature cake which is peanut butter cake. It was half melted when they serve up, taste normal where easily i can find a tiramisu anywhere. Also had a strawberry milk shake which is quite ordinary but that cost almost sgd10.

It says italian restaurant but i don't feel any authentic at all. just a normal cafe where you don't have to queue for seat.

Spending per head: Approximately $10

craving for choc OK Jan 10, 2012

I came here for their famous rum and raisin soufflé, but it was out of order.

This is a place where you get indulge in all kind of chocolate. chocolate drinks, chocolate cakes and even ice cream using their top quality chocolate bean.

We have tried chocolate flour less cake, chocolate tart, and valhona lava cake as well.

We also tried their ice-cream for 5 dollars per scoop. Just ordinary to me. Tips for those who wanted to pay a visit, avoid weekend especially evening time, it usually packed with people and you couldn't get a table at all.
