Chocolate Swirl Buns  Smile Apr 16, 2012

I love these chocolate swirl buns. They are light and fluffy with chocolate fillings that are not too thick but just enough to add a little flavour to the bun! The soft texture of the bun just makes you want to have more because it does not really fill your stomach, one bun is definitely not enough. That's why they come in a pack of six! Great afternoon snack! smile

I had a yummy lunch at Lai Lai that day. Besides the famous beef noodles that they serve, they have other lunch set meals too, including the sambal chicken cutlet meal together with a cup of milk tea with pearls. The chicken cutlet was really juicy with flavour that the sambal chili over it just made it too salty but it was still really goood. The cutlet was also huge! The pearl milk tea was well-brewed and there were quite a lot of pearls. Besides this set meal, I also ordered their fried bringals with pork floss as a side dish. It is my favourite side dish at Lai Lai. Served as a side dish, it looks like a main dish because the portion is just huge. The batter on the bringal is light and crisp, goes perfectly well with the pork floss! I would go back to Lai lai just for this side dish!! smile

Japanese Bento Set Smile Apr 14, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Once in awhile when I feel like getting a quick Japanese meal, I would pop by umi sushi for their bento box meals which give you a choice of saba fish, beef or chicken as the main dish. I enjoy their saba fish meal the most. Although the fish may not be sizzling hot like those served in the food courts, the fish is still really tasty! They have other side dishes like mashed potato, some pieces of vegetable and green jelly. They serve short grain rice in this meal. You can try their chawanmushi as a side order too! Fast Japanese Food! chopstick

Triple scoop Ice cream!  Smile Apr 14, 2012

It was my first time at Marble Slab Creamery. Didn't know their scoops were really big so I ordered three scoops of blood orange sorbe, hazelnut and cheesecake flavours! I realised my combination was a little weird after I ordered but it was not too bad after all because the ice cream was good so it did not melt too easily and get mixed up. The blood orange sorbe was the best. A little sourish but it was really refreshing. The other two flavours were quite normal. The ice cream was creamy and was of a perfect texture! smile

Korean Food  Smile Apr 14, 2012
Categories : Korean

This Korean restaurant at the basement of Plaza Singapura is relatively new. It has an interior design concept that of a korean cafe with sweet designs here and there, giving you a Korean feel, just that the waiter and waitresses are not Koreans. ): but the food they serve is not too bad. We ordered a few dishes including their Korean pancake and chicken dish. The Korean pancake was yummy! It was not too starchy and there was still a light crisp to it. The chicken dish was served raw over a flame, so we had to wait awhile for it to cook. It was sweet, not spicy and went very well with a bowl of white rice. I really enjoyed the Korean meal at this restaurant! chopstick
