Sushi snack  OK Dec 31, 2011
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

My friend had a coupon so we had ten sushis for the price of one dollar each. There was a variety of toppings to choose from. I selected two of my favourite seafood toppings- octopus and scallop. The octopus one was not very nice. It was all chopped up, could not really enjoy the texture of the octopus. And, the flavouring was a little too salty. But the scallop topping was good. It was very flavourful and delicious. The seaweed wrapping was not very crisp but still fresh. The sushis there are reasonably priced and fresh. chopstick

Black Carrot Cake Smile Dec 31, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre

There were so many stalls serving carrot cake, I didn't know where to buy from. This stall had quite a crowd of people waiting for their food, so I decided to order from here. The carrot cake was sweet, with the right amount of black sauce. There was not too much chai po, which did not make it too salty too. There wasn't much of a burnt taste. Some of the pieces of carrot cake were too big, not chopped up properly. The proportion of egg and carrot cake was good. Have to eat it hot for it to be at its optimum flavour and to get the best food experience out of it! chopstick

Spending per head: Approximately $2.50

Shark's Meat Lor Mee

Shark's Meat Lor Mee

There are two shark's meat lor mee stalls at Tiong Bahru Hawker Centre. Having tried the other stall for already a few times, I decided to queue for the one from this stall which had an equally long queue too. For $2.50, there was quite a lot of noodles served. The pieces of shark's meat were also quite big. There were fewer other ingredients in the bowl- just a few pieces of pork, fishcake and ngoh hiang. The bowl noodles was still slurping good because the gravy was thick and flavourful. Satisfying lunch! chopstick

Chocolates!  Smile Dec 31, 2011

White Chocolate Shot

White Chocolate Shot

Discovered this stall while shopping at Vivocity and was attracted to dine in it because of its beautiful interior that is very suitable for meeting up with friends for an afternoon tea or reading a book. They serve a variety of food and beverages, including waffles, churros, crepes, chocolate shots, frappes and other coffee beverages. What makes the cafe unique is that they serve their drinks in cute cups- different kinds of drinks have their own unique cups and their straws are all metal.

I ordered a white chocolate shot which was DIY. They call it SUCKAO. So, i had to melt my chocolate and pour in the milk to create the shot. I also had churros which was well fried. Three different types of dips were served- raspberry, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. The texture of the churros still remained crisp even after some time.

It was a great and interesting experience at this cafe! smile

Cheap Chicken Rice OK Dec 31, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk

Needed a light dinner so I decided to pack $1.50 chicken rice from Ananas Cafe. The portion given is reasonable for the small amount of money paid. The rice was a little mushy but still enjoyable. I added vegetables because there were no cucumber slices left at the end of the day. The cabbage was super oily, it made my entire packet quite oily. You can't enjoy eating this packet of chicken rice without pouring the chicken rice chili over your rice! smile
