Steamed Chicken Rice OK Dec 23, 2011

There was quite a queue at this stall which has the hao chi sign and the queue never shortens. The whole time we were having our meal, it just remained at the same length! I shared a whole chicken with three other friends. I ate most of the breast meat so I can't really comment on how the skin/ thigh tasted. The breast meat was not too tough, still shreddy. I felt that the chicken was not too overly oily. You've got to pour the oil over before you feel the oiliness. Nevertheless, the flavour was still there! Adding the oil just made it more awesome. smile The rice was not sticky and was fragrant.

Taiwan Milk Tea  OK Dec 23, 2011

white and black pearls

Had a choice of Singapore or Taiwan milk tea. Decided on Taiwan's instead after reading the description. Singapore milk tea has a more milky flavour which is not to my liking. I prefer to taste more of the tea which was why the Taiwan one suited me! (: Had a hundred percent sugar and no ice because it was a cold cold day. It turned out a little too sweet but the milk tea was thick and flavourful. The tea was really stronger than the milk, thankfully. There was a mixture of white and black pearls (had the option of pudding but it was a little too weird so decided on pearls), but they both taste the same!

Gingko nuts with barley  Smile Dec 21, 2011

It was a very satisfying warm dessert on a cold day after dinner. The aunty at the stall filled the bowl up to brim which made me really happy. Usually for this dessert they don't give many gingko nuts but she gave at least 5 pieces of the expensive nut! smile The barley together with the tau key thingy was a very good combination. It was sweet but not overly sweetened.

Yummy chicken and shrimps Smile Dec 21, 2011

This is a great fast food lunch combo. There's a good mix of meat- a piece of chicken and 5 shrimps with fries. The only thing that is missing is salad. I love LJS's fries. They still have the authentic potato flavour and is fried very differently from the normal fries from Macs. Their shrimps are also very flavourful. Together with the drink, this meal can be quite filling! smile

Teochew FIshball Noodles OK Dec 09, 2011

For just $2.50, you get to enjoy huge pieces of fishcake with colour, two fishballs, a huge bowl of noodles and a bowl filled with vegetables! smile The noodles from this stall usually taste real good however this time, there was an alkaline taste which made it quite difficult to eat. I had to put in more chili to cover up the taste. The portion of noodles was also a lot this time. I really enjoy eating the large pieces of fishcake. They make the dish more appetizing with the variety of colour and their size. chopstick
