sumptuous lunch with offers Smile Jun 18, 2013

I had a meet up with an old friend at this outlet of Manhattan Fish Market as there were coupons from my last visit. The offer of 1 for 1 is too good to resist. We ordered the palette and dessert for me.
Palette's fish is good as always from this chain. the clams are slightly fishy smell. if this part of the dish can be improved, the palette will be perfect.
I top this off with a brownie. i would love it to be slightly warmed with a delicious scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Service wise for this outlet, perhaps due to heartland, service is not always prompt. we had to request for water top up. the crew is not so attentive as those from town outlets.

Dinner with no Q Smile Jun 17, 2013

Fancy a dinner without needing to squeeze or queue for your food. Try this EspresSOUP at Jurong Point Level 2, Between JP1 and JP2. The restaurant is kinda "open" but not much of the crowd passes by this area.

Our food was served rather fast. We ordered the signature soup with the square bread top up and a chicken bacon burger. The staff took initiative to help us 'upgrade' our order so that we can enjoy savings and an extra cup of ice lemon tea. It will be even better if the staff can notify us beforehand, rather than do it by himself. But small issue here.

The mushroom soup is flavourful and smooth. The square bread presentation is of cos one of their main selling point, although it is essentially just plain bread.

not bad

However the burger is quite standard and nothing special to note.

I was sourcing around for healtier choice of light dinner when I came across this stall at west coast hawker.

I ordered the minced meat balls only porridge with egg.
The stall owners are friendly and the waiting time was short.

I love the smooth texture of the porridge. Very well cooked, not too thick and not too watery.
Minced meat balls are given generously considering priced at $2.50. The egg was another $0.50.

Besides porridge I also tried their hot and well priced chee cheong fun. only $0.80 each.

Can give a try for those staying in the west craving for porridge and does not want to go all the way to chinatown.

Unique lu wei in SG Smile Sep 29, 2011

This is definitely one of its kind in Singapore. I do not know where else can we find similar dish.

The stall offers 1/2/3 person share of shi lu wei (small/,medium/large) + rice, 1 person share of shi lu wei with noodles. Another plus point is the stall owner will cook each share one by one, despite long q of earger waiting patrons.

The gravy/soup is reddish and tasty to the max with a nice hint of seaseme seeds. Ingredients differs depending on the size of shi lu wei. Ingredients include veg (i think is kang kong), dried beancurd, chinese mushroom, chicken wings, cuttlefish, pig skin, chicken, tau kee etc etc.

The chilli goes well with the whole meal.
Overall, unique and must try !

We were at IMM again, and decided to try out this Japanese resturant for dinner.

I remember there is another of this outlet at Vivo and was long Q during weekday lunch hours.

This one at IMM is relatively lesser crowd during weekday dinner time. Hence we were shown to a table promptly.

We had ramen promotion sets. The taste of the ramen is slightly above average but at similar price range there are better taste ones. Soup taste quite "regular" and did not leave much impression on me. The boiled egg was not quite up to my standard (watery yolks, fragrant whites), theirs was totally cooked.

Overall, with the set menu price, its worth a try.
