Bubble Tea Smile Nov 17, 2012
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Remembered there was a period of time where I'm super crazy, drinking the various brands of bubble tea in Singapore, collecting pictures just to do review on my personal food blog. Despite all the several new brands from Taiwan, I still prefer the type which has been here for ages....(earlier than sweet talk craze)

This particular cup walker has been in kovan for super long time. It used to be located at blk 204, somewhere near the dbs bank, shifted into the mall few years ago and gain a strong foothold till now.

their milk tea are known to be thick and smooth, valuable for $. Most popular is their pudding milk tea, alternatively, may opt for coffee crystal (which is coffee jelly) and such a big cup cost less than $2. So value for money.

Another of my favorite choice, which is also healthier. Jasmine green tea with aloe vera! Wow... taste best especially on a hot day.

Recommended Dish(es):  Pudding milk tea,Passion fruit green tea,fruit juice,yoghurt

Braised Chicken Rice Smile Nov 17, 2012
Categories : Hawker Centre | Chicken Rice

Was in the mood to try a different version of chicken rice when I was in kovan food center. The normal hainanese chicken rice is always steamed white chicken or the roasted chicken. However, this particular stall offers braised chicken as well.

Not many places sells braised chicken rice nowadays (other than the famous chicken rice shop in chinatown)

Chicken skin: Chewy, Q, not very salty, light tone of dark soya sauce, not salty and has a mild herbal taste.

Chicken meat: Tender, moist, perfectly cooked.

Soup: Mild herbal taste

Rice: The kind which i like, not the oily hard grainy type. smile

Very worth for a plate which cost only $3.00 where they separate the meat and rice for you.

Recommended Dish(es):  Chicken rice

Super Affordable Beverages Smile Nov 09, 2012

Categories : Food Court

I've come to realise that not all food sold in hospital are expensive. This particular sells a wide variety of fruit juices, soya bean milk and hot beverages as well. The packed fruit juice like fruit tree fresh, nutri soy are of the same price range where supermarket sells.

As for their hot beverages, it's much more cheaper than what the other coffee shop outside is selling.
$0.50 for kopi O, $0.60 for coffee and $0.70 for kopi c. Yup, it's really that affordable and I only paid $0.70 for my kopi c cow siew dai! Market rate is about $1.10 in kopitiam. Even though coffee may seems to be a normal drink item, but the price doesn't seems normal! smile

Other than the price which shocked me, what really impressed me is the service provided by the friendly service staff. After taking down my order, they would repeat before preparing my request, smile and collect payment politely. Not only that, for take away order of 3 cups, they would cut out a cardboard and use as a base to support the cups of drinks before place them into carrier for customers to enjoy the convenience of carry ( drinks out not topple / spills out) So thoughtful, taking into consideration of every small details. smile

Healthy Chicken Rice / Noodles Smile Nov 09, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Hawker Centre

Hospital canteen food are known to be unfit for human consumption~~~ well, you would only hear this from a "junk food" eater. lolz.... Menu in hospital canteen food tends to be healthier and would usually state the calories per dish, but it's still fit consumption! tongue

It does help people decide on wiser choice and these so called "healthier food" usually taste bland and dry. However, I was quite surprise when I tried the chicken noodles and chicken rice from this stall in CGH and it totally changed my thinking on hospital canteen food.

Dry Noodles with Roasted Chicken.

Noodles are well cooked, taste springy and well tossed with seasonings
Veggies nicely blanched, with a healthy looking coat of green which taste crunchy.
Chicken breast meat aren't tough
Last but not least, price is affordable. $2.50 for a plate of roasted chicken noodles! Where can I find in Singapore?!?!

I've seen many people ordering their white chicken rice. Especially health conscious doctors or medical team people who goes for chicken breast. Yup, high in protein, lower in calories as compared to chicken drumstick/ thigh. For additional protein, adding 1 hard-boiled egg is a good choice.

Rice grains looks glossy but dun taste oily at all.
Chicken meat ~ super generous serving with sooooo.... many pieces of meat, taste even better with the light soy sauce & sesame oil drizzle.

Delicious! smile

Not my 1st time buying bread from this bread stall and I quite like the concept of having a bread stall in the hawker. 1st of all it won't be so expensive and most importantly they maintain the traditional taste.
Potato Ham Bread

The bun is soft, fluffy and has a mild sweet taste. Fillings wise is generous and not salty. The mashed potato is smooth and creamy.

A new addition for my brother who is a non pastry lover. Quite surprise that he actually like the flakey puff pastry where it still taste crispy when cold. smileshocked
