Chicken wings OK Sep 25, 2011
Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pasta | Kids-Friendly

I was looking for a light snack on the go so I ordered for an appetiser! Saw that the chicken wings served with coriander chilli sauce is one of the items in their chef's recommendation menu so I decided to give it a try.

It was surprisingly juicy considering that the chicken skin looked really dry. However, I had the second chicken wing around 10 minutes later than the first..and it was really dry. Taste wise, there isn't much unique taste to it. It is kind of like any other chicken wing..which is pretty disappointing for a chef's recommendation food item.

It costs $3.90 for 2. Alternatively, you can buy 4 at $6.90. It doesn't taste bad but personally, I think its not worth the money.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.90(Lunch)

Crispy Cheese Roc & Roll's OK Sep 19, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook

I'm a big cheese lover so when I saw this cheese roll snack I couldn't resist it. Like many snacks Candy Empire sells, the Crispy Cheese Roc and Roll's were imported from another country. Its from Belgium actually.

It costs $3.50 and looks like its a pretty small pack but considering the snacks were rolled up, its probably around the same size as a regular pack of snack. It taste very much like Doritos just that different cheese were used. Unfortunately, the cheese for this cheese rolls weren't too strong and the nachos taste is overpowering it.

I had pretty high expectations of it so was pretty disappointed when it didn't meet my expectations. Nevertheless, it is tasty but I'd prefer to have cheesy Doritos instead not just b/c it has a stronger cheese taste, but also, the rolled up nachos are too thick for my liking.

Guacamole turkey burger OK Sep 12, 2011
Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

I had no idea what guacamole is and I decided to just try it. It was a big mistake because I absolutely loathe avocado. As you can see, the green sauce, which is guacamole, is an avocado-based dip. Even though there's a layer of cheese and I'm a big cheese lover, the cheese wasn't enough to cover the strong avocado taste.

To make matters worse, the turkey was too dry and the whole burger was just a disaster for me b/c I couldn't stand the avocado. I only had like 2 bites before giving it to my sibling. He did like it though. So I guess it doesn't taste terrible but rather its a matter of preference. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to avocado haters though.

Fish and Chips  OK Sep 07, 2011   (Related Review)

Considering Do & Me serves pretty remarkable rice sets, the fish and chips rice set is a disappointment. Don't get me wrong! It isn't bad. Its just that I'd rather have other rice sets.

The fish and chips are very average and has that thick layer of fried flour which I loathe and will not eat. The fish is kind of overcooked, as a result, really soft and you can probably swallow it without chewing. Overall it doesn't taste bad but you can get something better from this stall at the same price. However, if you're looking for a fish rice set, this is the only choice if I'm not wrong.

Homemade Gyoza OK Sep 04, 2011   (Related Review)
Categories : Japanese | Ramen | Kids-Friendly

Every time i'm at ajisen i'll definitely try out a new flavor of gyozas. I ordered for the homemade gyoza and it was pretty disappointing when it was served. The gyozas looked skinny, as though it has shrunk. The fried skin of the gyoza is very hard to chew on and the skin is pretty soggy. The insides of the gyoza are pretty dry for a gyoza. I do like the salty taste to it though.

Considering other Japanese restaurants in the Jurong Point's Japanese street also sell 5 gyozas at $3.90 and actually taste way better, i wouldn't recommend Ajisen's gyozas.
