Mr Bean ( Lavender )

This is probably the second cheapest nicest ice cream I've eaten in Singapore. With just 1.80 I can have such a flavourful yet healthy ice cream, so happy hahaha. It taste just like pure soya, no additional sweetener or whatsoever I feel. And the serving is considered generous for a comparatively low price. It's available with cone too.

Favourite Mango Cheesecake at my favourite bakery
Smile 2011-09-28
Chef Icon Nature Bakery ( Outram )

My favourite Mango Cheesecake at my favourite bakery! It is really quite hard to come by cause the boss bakes different cakes daily to be sold as individual slices with no fixed roster, but more often than not you can get the Oreo Cheesecake. The slices of mango can only be found at the outer part and they were wonderfully sweet. The cake is like pure American cheesecake, and it's really smooth. The lingering taste makes me happy haha. This bakery plays soothing music such as that of Olivia Ong, and it's quiet so it's quite an ideal place to read or even study at.

They have moved!

Momiji Japanese Buffet Restaurant ( Jalan Besar )

Went there with my classmates and to our horror, it wasn't there anymore and heard from another friend they moved to City Square at Farrer Park MRT. I really love their salmon there, it's so awesome and fresh that I can finish two plates of it on my own. ( The red one is not so tasty to me, heard it has got a higher level of iron in it though haha ) And the best thing is it's free flow with just $15.35 ( student price + passion card discount ). Only available on weekdays 1200-1500 though! Oh and if you stay in the East, can take the shuttle bus from Lavender MRT to City Square Mall, it's just 5 mins~

One of the favourites in school
Smile 2011-09-28
Taiwan Delight - Koufu ( Dover )

This is one of my favourites in school! The mee sua itself is smooth, and the soup is really rich in flavour, niceeee. Only thing is not much ingredients, and not very filling. But I'll still buy it heh. Oh and this is usually sold out by lunch time, so gotta be earlier; I got mine at around 1100~

Awesome Hot Chocolate
Smile 2011-09-28
Little Part 1 Cafe ( Upper Thomson )

Read the raves of their Hot Chocolate and indeed, this is awesome. Or more than that. It's a really generous serving with marshmellows on top. 'The rich chocolatey taste!' This then lives up to it hahaha. Every sip is so satisfying that even my friend wanted to order it ha. Good news yeah all hot chocolate lovers!

The only drawback is that this place is rather hard to locate; we took a cab there out of laziness. And ps. They are closed on Tuesdays and from 1500-1730 on weekdays, so don't be like me, who waited an hour plus for this lol.

Billy Bombers American Diner ( Dhoby Ghaut )

This is really awesome! Just writing this is making me have this urge to drink it right now! Honestly, I didn't really want to order this cause it's quite pricey for a milkshake, but I didn't regret it at all. It got really addictive though it was slightly too sweet upon the first mouthful. Very smooth indeed. The metal cup fills to about 1.5 times of the plastic one. A perfect dessert~

Udders ( Bukit Batok )

Having a sweet tooth, ice cream is a must as dessert on hot days. A friend - strongly - encouraged me to go to Udders and my first reaction was: 'Come on, have you tried Tom's Palette?' She said yes, and said Udders is on par. I was kind of skeptical, but was proven wrong the moment I tried their Mao Shan Wang. It was absolutely rich - so rich in flavour that I couldn't really taste the accompanying chocolate after having the first spoonful of it. It really felt as though I was having the real Mao Shan Wang, and I'd recommend this to all durian lovers; you won't be disappointed!

A1 Porridge ( Raffles Place )

Was roaming around Raffles Place and I remember Lau Pa Sat as one of the must gos as advised by the older generation. And woah, this is probably the nicest fish porridge I've ever eaten in Singapore. I find it even nicer than the one at Bedok 85 which many rave about. The texture of the porridge itself is extremely smooth, so much so that the first mouthful totally amazed me. Coupled with the sesame oil, it's near heavenly. Though it is considered pricey for a bowl of porridge, it is really worth it.

Probably the most unique Bak Chor Mee
Smile 2011-09-22
Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle ( Lavender )

I eat this whenever I feel like doing so - thrice a week? Cause I stay less than 1 minute's walk away wahaha. The queue is really horribly long during lunch time, thankfully my Mum's been a recognised regular, thus I'm able to skip the queue as well. I've never liked vinegar, until I ate this Bak Chor Mee. The boss is friendly, and he gets increasingly generous with his ingredients as you frequent regularly. I like the pig liver too as it's softer than usual, complimenting the unique taste brought forward by the adding of vinegar. The best has got to be the soup. It is amazingly sweet and flavourful! The boss revealed to my mum that he uses 'dua tao gut' to boil it. ( sorry I don't know the English translation. ) Anyhow, this is probably the most unique Bak Chor Mee you can find in Singapore!

Hidden gem!
Smile 2011-10-09
Cak3 Box ( Upper Thomson )

This is indeed a hidden gem. I just wanted to go to Little Part 1 Cafe but cause they are closed at the time I went ( 3+pm ), I decided to just kill time at this shop beside till they are opened for dinner. And to my amazement, this brownie of theirs is good! My friend got some cupcake and it tasted not bad as well.

They do not have tables and chairs for you to enjoy your cake / cupcake at, but the young owner is friendly enough to let us have our cakes at their only table that looked more like for admin purposes. And she prepared a cup of English tea for each of us foc too, really nice of her. Spoke to her and realised that she learnt her baking skills in the States and came back in hopes of starting her own career.

If you happen to go to Little Part 1 Cafe, I'll recommend you to come here for a little dessert as well~

More than finger licking good
Smile 2011-09-22
The Coffee Nations ( Bugis )

   :D

This is my all time favourite: wedges! Though they are called Coffee Nations, their wedges are not to be belittled. Coupled with the cheese, it's more than finger-licking good. This can be shared with a friend or two, the warm cheese will definitely bring nods from all. An ideal snack to accompany the main dishes~

Strawberry Cheesecake
Smile 2011-09-30
The Café Cartel ( Dhoby Ghaut )

Their Strawberry Cheesecake is basically one of my must-orders whenever I go there, especially after 9 for their half price promotion. The cheesecake is smooth and I love the real strawberries on top which aren't too sour for my liking. Just in case you don't know, they offer free flow of bread too, which I really like to have together with the butter heh. Hope the promotion lasts as long as possible!

Banana Crepe
Smile 2011-09-30
Marché ( Somerset )

Was my first time at Marche and heard about the raves of the crepes so decided to try this Banana Crepe. The caramel dressing made it a little too sweet as the banana was sweet by itself, but the crepe itself is still nice! Just that it gets a little soggy as time passes, so remember to eat it quick! My friend ordered the Rosti and that's good too, will go back for that, just that the food there is more on the pricey side~

Seasoned fries ftw
Smile 2011-09-30
Astons Specialities ( City Hall )

Wanted the steak well done but it was still a little too bloody for me lol, and a little tough to slice. Their pasta salad is nice as usual, and I especially love the seasoned fries. Water is chargeable at 30cents here. It is always packed during dinner time, had to wait for about 15 mins to get a seat, heard of friends queuing for 1 hour even on weekends so do make reservations beforehand~

Werner's Oven ( Siglap )

Was brought there by a friend who wanted to eat there before he enlisted, it's kind of ulu to me cause I don't frequent Siglap at all, just remember sitting bus 12 there. Ordered this Farmer's Sausage and woah, it's nice! It's juicy and I really couldn't bear to finish the last bite lol. The sauerkraut on the right tasted a mixture of sweet and sour, never tried this before. The potato salad was kind of ordinary in comparison. I can't wait to go back again to try the grilled cheese sausage!
